The book 'o learning!
Hey there ladies and gents =)
The other day I was looking through a lot of the sketchbooks on here, admiring the works of such folk as SamsonsReaper, Luness, aiRaGe, Fregy and Jama. I find them all dead inspiring and am such a fan of their work, and I was sitting there thinking...
"...I wish my final work was half as good as these guys' sketches"
when I was accosted by my friend who said
"Give it a go, can't hurt and these people can help you"
So here I am, long time lurker, first time poster and my end goal is to become a good environment artist; I was hoping that the wonderful community here could help me achieve it.
I don't have much of an arty background to be honest, I didn't go to any arty school or anything like that, but I'm determined to learn.
What I have adopted is the "Speedy a Day" approach, to take an hour on my lunch break to sketch out a scene in my mind.
What I kindly ask from you is to flat out tell me where I'm going wrong, what I can do to improve it and then I'd go away and try an updated version of the same drawing.
I've done today's one... be gentle

Just a fieldy scene leading into a forest.

Just seeing how I cope with water... Needs work me thinks!
