hi, i'm nen. :F
NEN is a concept artist, illustrator, and low brow artist who occasionally dabbles in comics. Specializing in integrating violence, gore, and horror with the beautiful and the surreal, NEN pulls an unspoken vision of the human condition from the fluidity of water, the subtlety of second glances, and her ability to pair painstaking attention to detail with the freedom of frenzied motion.
Currently, NEN works as a character/costume designer and promotional illustrator for various clients. Her characters are uniquely charismatic and her figures twist and twine in rare and unseemly ways. NEN may be a painter and a designer, but her talent lies in making characters breathe.
NEN has worked on the card game SHINOBI CLANS by POSTHUMAN STUDIOS, Project Paradigm by Eschaton Media, and has published pinups and covers in many collections, anthologies, and comics. NEN is working on a graphic novel called ISCARIOT, various paintings for publication in books slated for release in 2014, and paintings for a low brow showing in the works.

Sweet sketch, great clean lines, very strong. You really got a good flow going on in this. Hope to see more from you, take care.
I would like to see more drawings, but this is good so far. You seem to have a sense for flow in this piece.
great start strong confident lines , bring more to the table
i will definitely be posting more, guys. :] would it be better to throw up some of my illustrations and older studies/sketches in here just to give more a feel of where i come from and what i do?
to give more a background of where i come from and what i do, i'm uploading pencils of a few illustrations. i don't really want to put any of the completed work in here (since it's a sketchbook haha), but feel free to browse my website to see the full watercolours of most of these if you like.
by all means, if you guys think it'd be helpful for me to post final illustrations here along with my sketches, let me know and i'll totally do it. ;]
Your sketches are beauties! I enjoy that every image has a sense of fluidity, a direction, almost to lead the viewers eyes where you want them to go . But what I really like is the way you utilize the pencil in techniques to give textures and shadows! I can't wait to see more

Your sketches are captivating because I sense a story behind each of them. The mermaid one got me staring for minutes. Ouch.
thanks for the comments guys. :]
lael: i try to put a lot of story into my images so that they become more mentally appealing i suppose, so thanks for letting me know i'm going in the right direction!
sexypistol: yay for real graphite! i just can't get the same effects digitally-- but i suppose that kind of thing comes with practice.
here's some watercolours and other stuff, like a page from one of the books i'm working on and some studies.
I'm going to try to take some scans of a few in progress illustrations i have as well as some more sketches that i've been working on. :]
!?! Really Cool ! Looking forward to see more.......
Very nice skecthes, I love the pencilwork. Keep the coming!
Otakon this weekend! I'm hosting a workshop on gesture drawing and watercolour painting technique at 830PM on friday, so I'm sure i'll have lots of stuff to post when i get back. ;] wish me luck!
I am most definitely subscribing to this. O_O That's all I can manage to say!
Visit my sketchbook. c:
do do do~ changed my pen name, did a gallery showing for the sugar ninjas release, got on the news. >w<
i'm working on scanning some more stuff out of my sketchbook. i'm prolly gonna be throwing in some page layouts from the books i'm working on as well.
a couple designs. the first is paris and it's getting nixxed, and not just cause his eyes are too close together on the headshot LOL. second is iio, and she's pretty much done. just gotta do a couple more after this one to get costume design down.
uhh some real Talent here! bravo -really nice drawings!
thanks for all the comments guys! i'm really trying to make my work more dynamic and full of personality, since a lot of the comments i've recieved in the past were that my figures were stiff and too posed. so thanks for letting me know i'm going in the right direction!
i also used to get that all my chars had the same facial anatomy, which is something i'm trying real hard to fix. >< hopefully that's working too. D;
