Has anyone here designed a plush toy for mass production? What is the jargon for "blueprint?" (as in "whatever a manufacturer actually needs to make a bunch of dolls").
I see that a lot of brokers (operating in Shanghai for example) offer design, prototyping, and finding a manufacturer as a part of a whole package for a small-scale mass production.... but I want to be able control the design a little more closely, then give a manufacturer exactly what they need to get going.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience in this area?
There was a guy not too long ago who had a plush toy thread called... ummm...Something like, " How I was raped by the system or something like that. Do a search for something like that. He sounded like he had been through that kind of stuff. Sorry I can't be of more help.

"I started to see human beings as little lonesome, water-based pink meat, life forms pushing air through themselves and making noises that the other little pieces of meat seemed to understand."
Thanks for the replies!
Just started skimming that thread and it was like reading my own story . My first container had something like 30-40% defects even after months of pretty particular design iterations .
Learning a lot of good lessons from the experience though. I think now we can manage these guys pretty well but the lessons were not cheap. Persistence is important, everything comes with time and earnest effort, or at least believing that saves me from losing sleep .
The prob now is that my buddy and I are not trained designers, just hacks who can doodle and tinker with photoshop.
