Im not really new here, but, I was very inactive all time here in conceptart.org. Some days ago I was seeing some sketchbooks and I found this guy Algenpfleger. He's progress and hard work inspires me so much.
And here I am, trying to fix and learn from basics. And being inspired by this guy.
I've studied "illustration", and now im studying fine arts. And I have a blog. BUT! I know how to draw but I always have a feeling that there's something wrong on everything ill do. So I thought that there was a lack of hard working and basics. I found I have a big problem with "discipline" so I start the new thread here and write some lines, to feel more obligated to work.
My name's Joan, 21 years old, male, from Spain. (presenting as Algenpfleger does on his path to excellence). I really want to improve my drawing and painting (color) skills NOW! It will be a long journey (i know), some takes more time someone's take less, but, I just want to get "there" and leave that feeling.
Just asking for help, critiques and motivation.
I start with 60 poses from posemaniacs (60 sec). I think my worst enemy is not being able to see what Im doing bad.
PD: Sorry for the english, Ill try to get better on that area.

Nice start. There's not much to crit right now, i do like your lines, nice and loose.
Vaya...he tenido un lapsus...

Buff! Quanta inspiración se saca de sus palabras. Todo pasion por su arte! Si señor! Gracias de nuevo.
Some bone studies and a doodle of crocodile done this evening while being in the zoo. I don't know if Im doing it the right way, but, I just know I don't want this drawing energy disappear. Just take it serious!
The Barcelona's Zoo is so sad, you know all the animals are in small places, with these sad mode on their faces and no movement at all. I don't want even for my worst enemy. In the other side, they don't move too much so its a nice but sad place to draw.
Thanks for viewing!
cool sketchbook man keep up the hard work
and keep having fun
have a good one
sketchbook updated October 6th
Your doing a great job keeping at it, and your figure studies look pretty good. I find that when I am having a hard time to fall back to literally constructing what I am drawing in perspective. I don't think its a good way to draw all the time but when learning "how to see" I find it helpful, maybe it will help you too. After awhile you can draw more freely keeping in mind what you have learned. Try and find material from Glen Vilppu or Bridgeman for some examples. Good stuff!
O yeah! Nice work on posemaniacs.
Keep drawing man, you have a great potential.
fantasyartist, thanks for the advice! I'll try it for the next round.
OmertA, having fun is the most important in that business. We have to love what we do!! Thanks!
bpic, Im going to check it there's some books about Vilppu or Bridgeman on my country and buy one. I have just three books: Human Anatomy for Artists; Drawing the human head, Burne Hogarth and Successful Drawing, Andrew Loomis. So I need more art books right now!!! Thanks for the advise!
Ivan Turcin, thanks man!!
Thanks guys, you give me some potential motivation! For today, there's not much work as I wanted but.. That's 55 poses (60") and some head studies from Horgarth's book. Today I tried different aproaches at poses, with pen brush, pilot, pen.. Not very happy with the work done today. Anyway, 170 poses is a good number for three days.
I want to ask about some good books for starting. I have lots in PDF but I can't just print all them. And I really want to buy some ones. So If you could help me with that..
Today I've made an order at amazon and bought these books: Imaginative realism: how to paint what doesn't exist, James Gurney; Fantasy art workshop, John Howe; Digital Painting Techniques: Practical Techniques of Digital Art Masters ; The Artist's Guide to Human Anatomy, Gottfried Bammes; The Artist's Guide to Animal Anatomy, Gottfried Bammes. They arrive around june so I'll have to work with Loomis and Hogarth until then. I think I should get some Bridgeman book too, maybe next time.
And heres some more bone studies...
Ostieee! Quin curs fas?
Twan, thanks for the advise But I can't stop doing posemaniacs it's addictive!! lol I don't know whya but after some poses I draw better lines in any other drawing during the day. It's like a muscle fitness! But you have reason I have to draw more from memory.
Some Hogarth head studies.. and going to sleep, it's the time now!
Nice one :p Love the Hogarth studies (starting them by myself) btw the paper gives a really old school,Renaissance look
