crazy awesome volume of gesture studies!
Thanks for your visit in my sketchbook mate! I've got to say, DAMNNNNNNN - So many studies. Great values in your value studies, well done! Keep up the hard work!
Hey there, impressive sketchbook! Your sketching method has obviously improved, your poses are getting better and your linework much more precise and refined. Still, I wonder what would happen if you tried to make a more polished piece? The sketches are great and you're obviously studying hard, but how does that translate into a more refined piece I wonder? Or is that not a goal of yours (could be of course)?
Don't let the studies kill your creative spirit! Study sickness is what they call it...at the same time, they are really beautiful and inspiring! Don't forget to apply them to a painting or drawing!
That's all; you can go back to being a hot hot hot work horse!
Wow, you're holding back on what you put in the Spartan threads. Great volume!! Keep it up!
Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.
In a bad mood? Take it out on my sketchbook! All constructive critique welcome!

@Mannyhaatz: I agree! Thank you!

Wow, I'm super impressed by the sheer volume of study here, the pages and pages of gestures are wonderful. The still lives are looking good, you're getting form down really well, but I think you're missing some of the subtler shifts in saturation and colour temperature, something to look for. =)
Killing it as usual. Soooooo many! How many of these do you complete a day? Do you work with a plan or roll as you feel? Are you in art school? Freelancin' it up? I must know! 8. How much time this must take! I'm sorry, overload is done. Keep on inspiring.
@Buxu : Thanks man!
@Revidescent: Thank you ^_^ And thanks for the tip, I tried to be a bit more aware of it the last few, they're usually done in 2-3h max now (I understand that's not a good enough excuse ><) but I wrestle with it and hope to get it on its back!
@Niquey: Ha! Thanks! Not enough though! Hmmm well it depends, sometimes I do maybe 200 poses? Sometimes just 20-30, depends on how long I spend on each, it slowed down this week as I was trying to get more fundamentals in because of the anatomy challenge. For the still life, it's 1 a day, 1,5-3h usually each. I don't have a specific plan, although I wouldn't mind following one if I deemed it appropriate , atmmnt I go through video tuts/books and try to link it all together. Art school, well I went 3 years to fine art, but that wasn't much of a help in this kind of stuff I think, I don't like to bash at it, but I feel like it could've been a much more structured and practical experience than it was...I would've rather chosen to go into animation now if I had a second choice ^_^.(or game art - 3D could be helpful ) So far, no freelancing yet, haven't really made appropriate portfolio or contacted anyone yet. Need to work on that , but at the same time trying to start up a tshirt design company on the side to see if any of that will be worth it (it should be up soonish). Haha, no problem at all! Glad if I can help somehow.

And this week:
great studies. the still life's are inspirational. great control over surfaces. did you get any help understanding that? i look forward to seeing more of your work.
@Toffeeliz: Thanks, you're too kind ^_^.
@Vezun: Thank you, glad to do so! I am not sure what you're asking in particular, but I studied some books and theory before as well as some art classes about 8 years back., but I'd say it's mainly just observation and practice ^_^.
And this week:
i thought maybe you had some dvds on surfaces. that's what i meant. or had taken some classes that covered that. but, you say mostly observation. thanks, you have a pretty keen eye then.
