I need your help. I got an email about a job offer in China. The recruiter wants me to know what is my "expectations in salary" will be. Frankly, I don't know. I want to say $10-$15 in U.S. dollars but this company is the leading gaming industry in the world right now, they are very big. So should I say what the going rate is for today in America?? like $69,000 U.S. dollars a year for concept artists?
I would greatly appreciate the help.

I presume you're talking about a permanent job and not freelance. So work out your expenses and desired margins and tell them how much you'd be comfortable earning. It's not a trick question
contract only? are you going to move there? if you are moving you need to look up expat(sp?) stuff. There are rules for working overseas in china/
When working with outsourcing to china in the past their artist made about 1/2 the salary that we were making in the states. Granted cost of living can be considerable less in China as long as you arn't downtown in a major city.
But if you are living here and are being contracted out by a Chinese company charge them the full u.s rate cause that's where you need to make enough to live on.
don't undersell yourself.
