Yo okay so this is probably old hat and everyone's already given up their New Year's resolutions but I'm just starting mine, I'm like some kind of turtle.
I've been in awe of so many of you for so long, lurking about CA and never posting anything because you are all rock stars and I'm a drooling fan, etc etc.
Anyway, my goal for 2010 is to draw more, which is vague, but essentially: more often, more risky pictures, more details, better grasp of light, harder, faster, better, stronger.
So here's what I've done so far in 2010. I'm going to a figure drawing class tonight, so there will be studies and such soon enough. Crit plz!!!!
Welcome to CA.org
I'll be looking forward for your work man!!
keep it up!
Thanks Andres- I checked out your sketchbook, truly inspirational!!!
So, Life drawing wasn't quite as balling as I thought it would be. The group did a ton of 25 minute poses, not many short poses. I really struggle with longer poses, I get bored and the poses aren't nearly as dynamic.
But, eh, practice is always good.
I drew a 'kelpie' today, because I haven't drawn horses since I was like eight and a pony was the best animal on the planet.
Uuuugh background fail.
I also dithered WAY too long on what gender the rider should be, and now it's hard to tell. So there! Take that binary!
nice work here man, your anatomy studies are great, keep it up!
WIP of a digital painting...amazons fighting some winged snake thingies. Uraeus I guess, I don't know how to pluralize that shit.
I'm doing this one because I have a big problem with letting my work get to a halfway decent stage and then dropping it, or just doing endless pencil line drawings. I don't spend a long time getting to a 'finished' state, ever.
So here's this thingie, at 4 hours in.
Any advice? I know it's early to say, but what jumps out here?
Today's anatomy doodles....The only one from ref is on the upper left, and that's just posemaniacs.
