First time posting a WIP here for critique so I can get help on it as I go along! Let me know what you think, and how I could make the image better.
Her shoulders look a little short. And kind of stiff, compared to her face. I feel like if her left shoulder is seen, parts of her right shoulder would be seen as well-- just higher up. Not sure what else to say... Is this part of a bigger picture or the whole picture?
Yeah, her right shoulder is actually there, it's just sketched--I haven't drawn it yet. I keep feeling like something's wrong in the whole general shoulder/clavicle/neck area anyway.
And this is the whole image haha, just sized down a bit. It's in the early stages, but I'm just not sure what direction I should take with the overall picture.
Hi tysandri and welcome to Concept Art!
You've got a good base from which you can definitely make something great from. I can see some good basic understanding of light and anatomy, but the body seems wuite flat atm compared to the face.
- Come up with a more interesting liughting, you know smth more dramatic
- The guy she is holding seems to near to her body, as if she would completely squish herself. Try studying similar poses and fotos.
- I think you can give the medusa more emotion if she looks away from the camera
I am expecting more updates, so keep on working and improving!
I agree with the previous posts, and one more--her hair is perfectly styled for someone with living snakes for hair. I think that it would add some drama is the snakes were moving up and around her head, not just at the sides.
