ROUND #178:: HALLOWE’EN SPECIAL: UNIVERSAL MONSTERS DESCRIPTIONUNIVERSAL MONSTERS TWO WEEK CHOW Was that the trees a rustling? Or the hinges on the gate? Something spooky in the shadows... IT’s ALIVE!!!!! HALLOWE’EN, the old festival of Samhain is here and this is a two week ChOW! Take one (or more if you fancy) of the classic Universal Monsters from this list and produce your own take on them. Dracula (1931) LINK Frankensteins Monster/The Bride (1931/35) LINK LINK The Mummy (1932) LINK The Wolfman (1941) LINK The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) LINK The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) LINK The Phantom of the Opera (1925) LINK And if you’re feeling inventive, The Invisible Man (1933) LINK Redesign them... Give us your version. Use the Universal interpretation as your inspiration or starting point, not the original stories, as Universal Studios gave them a unique twist, but feel free to explore the possibilities. However remember, this is a character challenge. There’s plenty of reference on the internet for all of these.  All the above are copyright UNIVERAL PICTURES A little note: If you are doing more than on character please assemble them into one image. This will be for the final poll. Not compositionally, just so all can be seen together. ------------ ACCEPTANCE TO POLL WILL BE BASED ON THREE CRITERIA: 1: DID THE ARTIST FOLLOW THE BRIEF? (allowance for creative takes will be made). 2: IS THE PIECE ARTISTICALLY SOUND? Whew....Finished...I wanted to do something similar to the old Bela Lugosi Dracula movies...Personally i feel that was the best version of Dracula apart from Nosferatu...I need to learn more about the way a cloth stays over a figure,values,anatomy and lighting.But at the same time i am a little satisfied the way it turned out..I hope my next chow will become better....This topic was great and i look forward to all the final entries...
