Cam Skyes: I like your start, but you've got some major perspective issues to nail down before you get too far. The perspective on the prison suggests that we're looking up at the place, but the rest of the scene tells us we're looking down. You've got to pick one and be consistent throughout the picture. Here's a rough idea of what it could be using the perspective of the prison for the rest of the scene. The Horizon is much lower (almost below the bottom edge of the canvas).. This heightens the impression of looking up. You don't have to use this idea, but take some care when laying out whichever perspective you chose.

Okay...finally getting my roughs in. Not sure on the building structure but it's a start. Lots of cool stuff popping up here!

Fixing up the comp. still got a while to go on this one but straightened that building out and angle. I pretty must scrapped some of the first things in the original but I think it works better.

Some really cool ideas from everyone. Can't wait to see the finished versions.

I think my rough was better. Maybe i will redo the prison itself as it is quite boring looking. But i keep thinking a prison is a concrete block type of building and should not be really appealing.

Initial idea/sketch/chilly goodness

Massive generators powering the prison colony... Not 100% happy with the angle/view yet ... hmm potential for detail overload on this one.
Thoughts?

Huh, my first entry.
Liked the topic and did few sketches to show my idea of such a prison. I think I won't have an actual picture of it until monday, but I don't care.

Hey, I have a few rough sketches I would like to get some feedback on.
Now bear with me, because when I say rough, I mean it. Any compositional advice would be greatly appreciated.

the prison hangs in that ice arch, right?
this migth sound stupid but the arch is angeld a little (with right ''foot'' closest, yes?) and i think it looks a little wierd when viewing the prison from straight ahead.. ish.. ( i already told you it might sound stupid, it's just what i thougth after looking at it fast )... so what im trying to say is get a side view of the prison as well.. or well a 3/4 view i guess.

and i really like the second design.. it looks a bit more plain than your other.. but i think it's awsome

Does the prison have to be a building?
Or could be say a walker or a spaceship in low orbit?

Nice you guys!

Dont know how far im gonna push this but
so far this is what i have

"Log#331#-T-33 In Sector 5, was home to a ultimate prison, the prison would walk the surface of T-33 to
avoid seismic activity, that so common to T-33. WP-11 "Kryztalis" was made untraceable, to make sure
prisoners wasn't sprung by the pirate clans that was becoming more
and more powerful, Kryztalis was home to some of the most deadly individuals in Terran space"

Felt inspired to write alittle to it aswell

Good job all. Mishkin great job to make the viewer feel like there inside the place. Heres mine, Im trying to convey the viewer is pushed back a little from the scene and they are looking at the large building which houses the guards to look over the prison. Im hoping to add a prison break, but that might come from a different scene, I dont think it would fit in here.

WOW! I think I would like to give a crit but so far I am way to humbled to do anything more than basque in the awesomeness of the concept Gods! I like the idea of an ice canyon and the the mountains formed from sliding plates of ice. That's what I had to start and thought I'd be real original I'm going to scrap the buildings and go for more of a landscape as per Chaos's hint. I kind of picked up on that from the brief but I'm still trying to wrap my head around why not just shoot the offenders instead of wasting all that fuel and manpower to transport them to this planet so they can die. Maybe I'm thinking too green
