I am currently making a painting of this photograph (nudity!).
I am making a digital painting of it, but so far I did not alter the pose, so it's very similar to the photo (here's the critique center thread). As soon as it will be finished I would like to upload it to deviantart and put a link to the reference image into the description of the painting. But I am not sure whether I may do that (legally).
The website hosting the photograph claims "courtesy of Hegre-Art" (below the gallery images). But I have no idea whether they really have the right to host this image (nothing on it indicates that it's a low res sample for advertisement purposes or something).
Could you give me some advice? I've been long enough on CA to know that here, people take such things easy. But I have practically no experience with deviantart, I simply don't know if THEY take it easy. Whenever you upload a submission on deviantart, you have to accept a terms of service text of approx. 71 km of length... Also, this painting is the best I've ever done (though not finished), and I don't want to screw this up with copyright trouble.
Some advice would be appreciated!
no offense, but this is the CA lounge, not the DA lounge.
You may be better off asking this on DA forums. They have moderator or admins too i think, write them a message.
Not only is that courtesy of Hegre- Art, but that's his wife. This might be a layered issue because I believe just about anything Hegre related is a subscription related service. Anything found second hand might be subverting that and complicate things further. And Randis does have a point. Good luck and good choice. Luba is fantastic as is her sister Marketa
