:: BATCH 2

i added some older works in this batch, and some shot of works i dont have in the original form scanned.
On one shot you see a couple of products i was working on, games, hardware and other crap.
The shot with the guys holding up gold cards, those are limited edition cards with my illus for a cardgame.
the other shot with some guys standing next to a poster, thats some of my older work for a card game, they had uber huge billboard sized prints hanging at the convention... And i had to sigh at least couple thousand cards will my hand went numb lol

There is some damnation mag cover, i did promo illus for this game and some concept art too.

humm, 3 box covers of the games i worked when i had the studio job, for the last one i was art directors, for the others lead designer.

I regret a bit that i didnt keep a lot of my old works... i usually dont post job related images, only private work...
1999-2002 i did about 17 magazine covers, if i can get my hands on them, again next time i visit my parents in germany i can scan em.

Added some compilation of moving picture screen caps from 2 MTV videos i produced for GMM Grammy. Have more vids but no screencaps...

There is also a pic with lots of naked dead bodies and some angel, For this i used base character meshes, made a simple 3d scene in 3ds max and rest is paintover. Took me 2 days... i could have painted that without 3d but that would take me 2 weeks given so many bodies... see how that saves time. Me = practical

I would really love to share some of the more recent works i did in the past 3-4 years tho to my bad luck, some of the projects went on standby and some are still not out, can not release a lot of work at all.
Often happens that once i can release its already so old that i dont wanna share..

cheers

Awesome stuff, Randis Seen a few of these around the internets already but they're a treat to look at. I really like those speedpaints you did too, haven't seen those before I think.

You've probably heard this before, but the tiny crit I would have is that it could use a little more texture or roughness in some places. It looks a bit too smooth in places, though this might be a personal choice.

Also, where are those boobies the thumb promises...

Thanks man!

@ L-rac
Thank you!

@ yoitisi
Thanks for looking and thanks for the crit too! cheers!
About the roughness, i am no fan of custom brushes, digital painting does not have to emulate traditional media imo, i don't try it even. I have some rougher styles tho, like the last 3 images, the diver also has more textures. The others i prefer clean. Boobies you can see in my sketchbook (lots of images tehre), i planned to add here some boobies a bit later, to lazy to make a new animated gif after each update so i spoil some images. cheers

These are truely breathtaking..
I just can't figure these out. Are they based on 3d models? How do you get this realism?
Awesome work either way.

For some images i use 3D base, that usually to get the perspective correct.
I use 3d to save time, thats the key. You can do the math, sitting 2 hours with a ruler drawing perspective lines for some castle or making a quick model in max in 15 min
Rest is just clean work, lots of hours and many passes, over and over....

For some images i also user Reference, for the vampire Image with the 3 woman, i had live models at my place, i directed them and tool ref shots then used it as pose reference.
I also often look up the nature of certain materials or effects, do research before i start a painting.

With some of the next updates i can post a very detailed work progress. I finished some complex painting a while ago for the secret agent challenge and saved all steps with info and so on.

You can also check out my sketchbook to see early stage images and sketches if you like.

Thank you!

Approaching the truly sublime here! Very beautiful

If I could offer any crit, I'd like to echo yoitisi somewhat...When looking at your finalized work, I sort of get the same feeling I got when watching the digitally remastered definitive ultra final cut of Bladerunner - the unrelenting sharpness obliterated something of the mystique of those early grainy versions.

Allthough I admire your attention to detail, I personally think you could perhaps "let go" of your work at an earlier stage...allow the viewer to fill in some gaps here and there, and participate in your storytelling.

Nevertheless, (and way more important than anything else I have to say), this is breathtaking

Great work man, that diving one looks great, I usually hate realism, but you've made it sufficiently dreamlike that I love it.

Inspirational.

Your critic is welcome, i noted your and yoitisi's critic by all means.
I get the points and will see about meeting those in some of my future works.
I try pushing various styles and it is certainly in my best intention to meet the viewers interests as good as i can.

cheers!

Good god, man. Nothing but undignified drooling and fawning from me. I love your work. You seem to have achieved some higher zen-state where perfect harmony exist between style/gesture and meticulously rendered realism.

This piece is absolutely incredible.
Peace man.

Some update

This here are top secret images.
This is not in game, this is concept art for one of my own games that i am developing with my team.

I am not going to give out any more info than that, just want to show a couple screens. The final game will be in real time 3d and have a different look, those scenes are just for the mood and testing.

Your art is great.
I found this piece (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1250797091) is the very last pages of CGtalk galleries a while ago, I loved this piece so much. I never linked it to your work I discovered during the secret agent challenge, that impressed me so much. And some of the pieces I knew from other places, like the guy with the axe... Waw, these are all yours.
Awesome.
I dig the second (or was it the third?) concept you did for the challenge, I hope you'll finish it one day. Or maybe not. Anyway it's great.
