as title says.
As you can see right now i am just blocking in colors. This one has a long way to go.
The end on the left is more toward an early morning or evening kind of timing, but the whole timing condition can change through out the image.
I am not sure whether i want to go for a warm dawn lighting condition, or a misty foggy light... nor have a solid idea of what direction is good. This is the first time I have such a long pan.
This is going to be an animation background pan, pan through the whole screen from right to left.
It is my intention that I start with blocks of colors instead of just pure value, I wanted a colorful, somewhat chaotic, overwhelming kind of approach, but i have a kept color backdrop to help balance the transition.
Maybe if you work more on the left side, and so we can see the image as a whole. Maybe it will make it easier for us to you help to decide. Also, go with what you like. And don't always agree with the first thing that comes to your mind. I know nothing about painting digitally, but I'm sure since it's a digital file you can make a COPY of it to EXPERIMENT with it. You know, just go with the flow. Experiment.

Here it is.
I have decided to make the left end more towards night, probably make a progress or so of timing from day to night.
I am mainly puzzled on the light direction of the right side.
Suggestions to improvements are welcomed. Thanks.
If I were you I think I would have created the lighting based on where you want the character to move through the pan. Also try to keep in mind that the colors you have in the background would take up alot of attention..also remember there is no color without lights, so you can use the lighting to calm down the colors in the background. Unless you really want it really colorful offcurse.
If I were you I would have used a faint moonlight, which would silhuette the character on the left, then use a warm sunset light to the right. It's gonna look great, fabolous work by the way
30 hours so far, i haven't applied the tip given yet but i will think about how to put it in.
I do want an overwhelming colorful picture that just comes at the viewer's eyes, in both a beautiful, chaotic and dangerous way.
