Hey yea im new here. Actually i've been lurking for a while. Looking at amazing pieces of artwork. I must admit i'm completely jealous of some of the work put out.
I finally decided able to sit down and dig my way through figuring out this stupid wacom. Ive downloaded a few tutorials but in the whole month ive had this wacom this is the first time ive actually used it for a painting.
Little history.. Ive been drawing for as long as i can remember but never consistently.. just here and there.. Theres a lot i need to work on, and values kill me. I know i should probably leave the wacom alone for now but i wouldnt listen to anyone who told me to do so... im stubborn... i notice my mistakes right away but get too lazy to fix them lol. I've barley painted in my life.. i think a total of 2 or 3 total from an art class i took in school..
anywho i really want to improve.. i SUCK with values.. shading.. texture... it kills me.. i hate not being good at things i enjoy.. i figured i'd start in black and white before moving to color so here it is... after a few beers...... and at 3 am listening to some kill switch engage.. i give you my first wacom painting.. my cherry is popped... its anakin..

That's a very good piece, don't get so down about yourself.
You can't be amazing at day one, it takes time, and lots of practice. Turn that jealousy into a motivation to excel at your artwork. ^^
Maybe do some figure studies, posemaniacs is good for them.

Great start, keep it up and you'll go far.
second wacom pic... as you can see i droped the soft brush trying to go for a solid brush set to pen pressure.. im having trouble brining blending and sharpness together to create something looking real.. any tips appreciated.. rip this piece apart please.. tell me where i need improvement..
Latest.. A jesus attempt from photo reference.
Heres the link to the jesus photo reference. I wasnt trying to copy it exactly.. but for the most part i wanted to use it to make sure my shadows were in the right place i guess..
