DC Direct - DC Dynamics - Auqaman

This is the first of a six figure series I designed and sculpted for DC Direct based on the style of J.C. Leyendecker. Its the most ambitious line of statues I've ever done. I started Aquaman in September of last year and am just now finishing up the 5th one. The 5th and 6th are supposed to preview at Comic Con along with the first four which were previewed today on the IGN Network.

The amazing thing to me is, not only did DC let me design this line based on the work of a mostly forgotten early 20th century illustrator, but they gave me a huge amount of latitude in trying this out, playing with materials and figuring out how to get the most from them and still make them reproducible.

All the statues are around 11" to 11.5" tall. They may come with an illuminated base. They light up cool.

Anyway, hope you like him. I'll send pix of the other three over the next few days.

Thumbs up Great Stuff !!

I like the transparency of the water. High quality detailed work. Don't let them skimp any on the reproductions and you got yourself a winner.

That is absolutely amazing! My jaw dropped looking at the water. And what a cool idea doing it in a Leyendecker style, it definitely shows through... Wow!

Gorgeous!

Hadn't caught the Leyendecker influence - the classical/Greek'ish facial design now makes complete sense.

Congrats on not just another awesome piece - but on having the latitude of design and production given to you by DC; you've earned it!
