I am heading into a graphic design course in the fall at my local community college. This is not my actual artistic pursuit in a career, but it will allow me to start and have a safety net to rely on.
I mainly do monsters and other animals, every now and then I do throw some sci-fi type drawings in, but I am definitely more adept in the creatures. I wish to improve my artwork in my drawings, and also wish to improve my painting skills which are much more bland.
I mainly have noticed comments concerning my work in these areas: Perspective, Values, Shading Techniques, Perception of 2d as a 3d object, among a few other select areas which sometimes includes anatomy.
I have been drawing my whole life (at least since I was able to pick up a drawing utensil) and it is my goal to become something in the art world. I mainly use Painter X, while I sometimes use Photoshop for it's image resizing and other options.
Here is my sketchbook which is full of recent and old works:http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...71#post2222771
My mentor needs to be unforgiving, not lace on the sugar at any time unless I have perfected a skill. They cannot be forgiving in any area, and must be willing to help me improve at any cost (well, we all know within reason of course).
Hopefully someone out there will see something in me and be willing to help me bring out what lies deep inside me.
