Getting back to some surrealistic themes and styles. Picture is titled Protoculture and about our culture and burning themselves (players). I started drawing it in Painter and then done in Photoshop CS5 that is getting better for artistic things and materials like brushes or something. Worked about one week.
and another variation of this one:
And some environment concept:
Everything looks great except for the Amazon woman's face. Either the eyes should be lower or the mouth higher.
I made this picture as box cover for RTS video game project titled Apox (www.apoxgame.com) making by Blue Giant Entertainment (http://www.bluegiantinteractive.com/games.html), it's about post apocalyptic world and desert oil wars after that. For that I've also made art directing and concept art (look it here http://samfx.com/sketches/pages/apox.htm). For inspiration I used Mad MAx style and some poster art of Cobra Movie. Worked about two weeks. Done with Photoshop and at fisrt stages in Painter, I used a few custom shaped brushes and main been a 6-10 pixels sized round brush; and original size of picture is 10,000 pix by height so to make f some kind of style of oil paint and rust to add some drama to here.

Thanks to my wife for helping me done it in that way.
So, hope you like it and please leave any comments.
Wow, this is some impressive stuff. I'd be interested to know how you use layers and programs like Maya to create these image. Some of your work i love, others I feel could use some work, like the face of the woman in the Yellow Thief image. The face looks a bit unnatural or too posed.
really inspiring stuff, loved all of it!
To human being: bear your flower through dark, don't drop it, but don't stumble on narrow path also...
This picture is first page from my Space Opera comic book titled YelloW World (working title), want to say about techinque

Maya, did made environment there (and in zbrush) and used mental ray render at end. After I overpainted it in PS with my
P.S.So also want post some poetry of William Blake:
Once a dream did weave a shade
O'er my Angel-guarded bed,
That an emmet lost its way
Where on grass methought I lay.
Troubled, 'wilder'd, and forlorn,
Dark, benighted, travel-worn,
Over many a tangled spray,
AH heart-broke I heard her say:
'O, my children! do they cry?
Do they hear their father sigh?
Now they look abroad to see:
Now return and weep for me.'
Pitying, I dropp'd a tear;
But I saw a glow-worm near,
Who replied: 'What wailing wight
Calls the watchman of the night?
'I am set to light the ground,
While the beetle goes his round:
Follow now the beetle's hum;
Little wanderer, hie thee home.'

Love the Apox artwork? When does it come out?
I really like how you achieve dark and surreal, without going overboard. It has a class to it.
Awesome environment art.
Love the "maps"... i didn't read the text, so i believe they are game maps.
