Nice!

Nice studies, nice values, nice sense of humour and nice moon fetish. There's good character in your faces too.
Not sure what you were going for with that last lanscape, I think it looks a little boring atm, I guess just padding out your first post aye? ;P

A few more concepts.

This was for an RPG but wasn't used.

I like your muscle and facial sketches. The linework and sense of mass is pretty good. (Also that landscape does not need giant snow women. Maybe it's not the most polished piece, but I thought there was a nice subtle sense of distance in the sky. Solid.)

Thanks for the comments. I'm trying to do more landscapes from reference, I still don't do enough though.

This will be used as soon as I get around to finishing it, sorry Gareth.

I'm really impressed by your sketchbook. I put myself in the position - when I was first sitting down to digital painting - where I was essentially hamstringing myself, in an attempt to make it look more traditional. I still haven't mastered any particular aspect of the digital process, but I sure do love ctrl + z!

Looks great so far, man. I know you wanted crits, but it's a sketchbook and I really find the material to be incredibly appealing.

Thanks Kinjura, I also like the undo command. And layer opacity, so much fun.

A creature which ended up being a little creepy. Doesn't really fit in the game, but I like it and think I will do something with this.

Nice. Very nice. I spotted your avatar on a post in the Critique section and liked it so much I followed it here. I really like your line work. You are successfully making digital look like graphite (assuming this is all digital).

A small quibble: I believe you will find it was George Washington who never told a lie. Only, that was a lie brought to you by PT Barnum, who exhibited an elderly black woman alleged to have been Washington's mammy and who told the "can not tell a lie" story about Washington and the cherry tree. When she died, autopsy revealed she could not possibly have been old enough to be telling the truth.

How Abe Lincoln actually felt about big butts, however, I could not say.

Well I have always believed in my heart that Abraham Lincoln loved Big Butts. As much as any man, maybe even as much as Sir Mix-A-Lot. Also, I have it on good authority that Rhonda Lincoln, Abraham's first wife, was "a wide-hipped woman with a surly disposition, who was thought to have divorced Abraham on account of his half-assed beard." -Roger Mcgrath 1867

Thanks for everyone's comments, here is a scan of the first page of an actual sketchbook. I will try to get some more. I like colored pencils and crayons, all in a vain attempt to control line.

Haha, here is some old-school graphite from my doctor's office sketchbook. Maybe six or seven years ago, man I am old. Terrible scan though.

I was able to scan another one, from 2003 I think. I actually kind of miss these, it's relaxing working on minute details for hours, if you have the patience. Even though they are not creative, I learned a lot from casts and realism.

And a phwoar to you too. Does that mean well fit or something? It sounds cool anyway.

This is a wip from a series of paintings on "I heard there's a girl who lives under the world". I don't know where it's going, but I likes it.

*I love that 'Self aware monsters' in you blog. Brilliant, and thank
you for the anatomy steps. Much much appreciated.
*Your abstract/render to finals are coming along nicely.
*Your first pic and Pacino are tops mate. Tops.

[I've not much to say as I'm still trying to get a grasp of human anatomy.]

Dwardo- Thanks man, I have discovered that people actually read that thing, I started it for work, but I have been encouraged to write more. Let me know if there is something else you are interested in.

Brun
- Thank you, I really like anatomy studies, like a grind in a jrpg, for some reason I have fun doing them.

Pearblossom- Thanks for the compliment. These are all digital mostly done with a mouse until recently. With the exception of the sketchbook/graphite and the girl and dog, which is a watercolor album cover. It was actually a series but the other scans are bad.

ANGRY
- Thanks, I try to update this every day and I find it on page five or something. There are so many good books here, I never realized, every single day.

I wish I could show more, but a lot is for work and I can't yet. Also, I think sketchbooks are for sketches, not finished, so I am kind of limited. Not that I ever finish anything though.
Here is something different, messing around with shapes. I am influenced by Quentin Blake and Shel Silverstein a lot. Digital is so limitless, but I feel like I constrain myself somewhat, I need to try some new brushes or techniques even if it stings a little.

Haha, here is another one like that. Just throwing shapes around, no real lines or brush strokes. I'm not sure if this stuff works, but it kills me to not use line, if I can use this style in environments I will be happy. I shall kick mine own ass with newthings.

gorgeous lines, nice and smooth, with a great sense of form. You draw great figures, face in particular, looks effortless mate. I really like ya background textures too, cool stuff. The green man in the circles further up looks like it's goin places, would love to see an update on that. Gonna keep an eye on this thread for sure.
