I haven't updated my sketchbook for the longest time.
At least, a long enough time to deem a "break" not that I really required one anyway.
So now when i'm telling myself "come on, get something drawn up to update it with" I just find myself sat scribbling random things.
So whilst the general cure to artblock is to have a break... i'm going to attempt to either:
1) Come up with a sort of "project". Most likely a fantasy world, with different races and conflicts etc. That would give me lots of artistic room to pour mind to paper.
2) Scour the CHOW archives and churn out a handful of ideas just to warm the brain up.
The bittersweet thing is there is a lot of study involved with art to make it look awesome. I've not even touched colour theory. But even though the pickings in my sketchbook are slim and do require the improvement from studies, I do like to let the mind loose every now and then to remind myself why I'm doing it all.
Slow and steady wins the race, Vehkt!
