I’ve been here for a while now, mainly reading, and already had a sketchbook thread which I deleted recently because I haven’t been around for so long and wanted to sort of start again. I really suck at digital art (one reason might be the stone-age tablet I own) and therefore prefer to use traditional mediums such as markers, watercolours, acrylics (which I suck at, too) and etchings. I’m going to start studying art this winter and really want to improve before that so that I won't fail. I really am a maniac when it comes to details and orderliness and sadly often overdo. Anyway, I’d really like to get some critique and I hope to get better at human anatomy. Enough said
Here are some of my latest pictures (it would probably be pointless to share old works):
good style. just amazing.
Wow, you must be crazy!
Awesome, detailed work you have here!
I really like the picture with those foxes, awesome linework and colors!
btw I´m from Bremen too
Wow! Realy unique style.
The ant work is realy pretty.
I think..that in just you'r first post, all is a WOW.
kymoart: Thanks a lot! It takes me long to get human anatomy right so I really feel the need to improve.
AM-Artist: It's a small world!
Here are some more pictures. I've got some new sketches like poses and rooms and stuff like that but I didn't have time to scan anything yet :/
wow nice things you've got here, very original style, i like it a lot ;] show us some more works
hi there! cool sketchbook. there's really not much I could critique really as I don't have anymore knowledge than you do!
All I would say is keep practicing, that what helps me, I read tutorials too which helps a bit but it's mainly practicing and viewing sketchbooks on this website - that's what motivates and inspires me.
Look forward to a long future of seeing new work in your sketchbook =)
Ooh I really like the composition of the man and the foxes, it has a very nice flow to it. I also love the sparse use of red on the drawing of the girl with the roses, and the two detailed drawings with the slate blue tones.
Very unique style!
As others have already said there is not much here to critique. Your style is very illustrative and graphic (in the old sense of the word), and it seems very well developed. As for your anatomy, again not much I can see that's off, the only thing is the stylization may be retarding the sense of volume on the forms but that's not so much about the anatomy itself as it is about the style and maybe the choice of colour. As for the class(es) your are going to take I don't think you have to worry too much about failing. In an attempt to give some useful crit I might suggest looking at your compositional choices and how you're leading the eye of the viewer. Anyway just keep up the good work. looking forward to more.
See my STUFF
AlexTooth: Yeah looking at other's sketchbooks is really motivating. I always feel the need to draw after I've seen one
Pseudo-Kidney: Thanks a lot!
Chas: Thank you for your comment I have to admit that sometimes I don't develop a composition for a picture at all (and I'm really ashamed of that).
Here are some pictures/sketches that were mainly drawn in school or while watching TV. Please don't be harsh, I know there are terrible mistakes in there
Nee bin ich nicht, ich find einfach nur das Märchen toll! Bin in der DDR geboren und deswegen als Kind von meinen Eltern immer diese Märchenfilme gezeigt bekommen, das hat abgefärbt
A new picture
Here's the photo I used: http://inspyretash-stock.deviantart....ld-1-110417790
The shading's a bit darker in reality, my scanner always screws pencil drawings up.
Wowee, great stuff in here. Great style and line. Do you use ink for your lines? What sort of pen do you use, if you do? I love how you draw your hair.
thanks for stopping by my sketchbook, glad you liked what you saw. Thee feeling's mutual, to be sure.
For very thin lines I use a Copic Multi Liner 0.05 and for all others I use pens that are called Edding. Both are filled with pigment ink
sweet work man
i love the way you have been using cool colors, and your line quality is superb, and about the pics you drew in school, I dont see any bad errors, your clean lines and obvious form make up for any would be problems
thanks for sharing man and keep the updated coming
I love your style! Your pictures are stunning, mostly because I'm in love with detail and you have a TON lol. My favorites are your 3rd, 5th and 6th drawings...yeah :3
I just have to say I find your work BEAUTIFUL. amazing style.
Keep it uuupp!!!

You've certainly inspired me to not be as lazy about finishing some of my pictures off.
I really dig the vibe on the black and white pieces, they could totally be illustrations on "Mystery" or something like that. Even though the style is very different I get an Edward Gorey feel from them...
Haven't been here for ages...it always depresses me to see that pretty much everyone's better than me. No just kidding, I can deal with it
here are some sketches I made last weekend & painting practice & my latest drawing.
I'd really appreciate critiques, especially concerning the next to last picture (I'm not happy with it.)
Oh how i love traditional art
nice style, very artistic.. You must spend a hell lot of time on your drawings with those detailed results..
Love the third painting in post #24 the colours go really well with each other.. I think they're a bit over-dramatized in the last paintings though.
Your paintings' got a great deal of personality, can't wait to see more from you^^
