Thought I'd start one of these.
Constructive critique is most appreciated!
Oh my, that figure painting rocks. Having that slimy character right next to kind of gives a split impression. Haha! I'm guessing you used photo ref for it. Must've taken some time. Impressive nonetheless, not to mention the other two. Great start. Välkommen, förresten.
Started doodleing something for practice of anatomy (esp. hands). After a little while I thought about turning it into something else, something more complex. The thing is that I have no idea what, so I put it on hold for now.
Nothing much right now, but you'll get half an arm atleast.
Here are a few graphite sketches. Some of them are pretty old, like a year or so. The women are kinda new though.
When I sketch like this I don't really go for the likeness. More form. I've sketched far too little in my days, so I'm kinda benighted when it comes to anatomy or sketching in general for that matter. Some things I get but mostly I'm fumbling. Plannin' on doing something about that. So you'll get alot of anatomy, studies of people and quick paintings/concepts/sketches from now on.
wheeeew really awesome start, man!!! Great pencils and sense of shape and form!! Hope u keep up ;-)
Thank ye Kfeeras. Don't worry, I'll never stop.
Here's something I cooked up during a few beers with a friend.
About 4-5 hrs. Practising colours. ( I guess you can see who I used as reference, allthough I changed a few features )
There's a bigger version On my DA page. http://twistmyflesh.deviantart.com/a...hell-111183778
the last picture is really Nice
Tackar tackar. Other than main practise of the aspects I mentioned, that was the feel I was going for. Nice to see someone interested ^_^
Here's a very quick one (15 min perhaps) done with a few beers running through my veins . I am totally inexperienced when it comes to colour. Haven't really studied any colour theory or anything so I'm fumbling in the dark. Did this to try what would happen if I went through a colour scale of green, blue, red and yellow.
Next one'll be a full body.
Anyways, time for bed methinks.
Another wip. It turned into something I didn't expect. But that is something one have to count with when started out with no plan at all other than "I'm have to practise some anatomy".
Again, it's not finished. Gonna take a break to rest my arm and watch a movie. Probably "outlander". See If it's worth the time.
Fun to see you here too! I always enjoy to see people's sketchbooks and not only their finished art. Also, those pencill sketches are looking good!
Hi there Vloth. Nice to see you've started a sketchbook here too. Thanks btw. ^_^
Some environments done today for practise. I'm trying to capture a feel for an upcoming piece. I tend to never do any backgrounds so I'm pretty new at it.
I love eerie swamps and cozy ancient forests so I practise those, for I intend to work my art into a certain direction, where I hope it will be considered cozy, magical and often tranquil (when I don't do macabre stuff that is). And It's pretty hard to portray a certain atmposhere when there's no environments in the piece. So I practise .
Spent about 30 min on each, give or take 10 min. Photoshop.
Man your stuff looks great.
your understanding of lights & shadows is great!
keep it up mate
