Nice ideas so far, too

Here's my.. kinda-sorta-mechano-high-tech-flesh... thing; partly inspired by the bio-mechanic stuff in Prey; remotely by the alien crap from Dead Space

used a ref photo to get comfortable with the perspective and composition...

..tried to focus more on atmosphere/lighting/coloring..

..have to discover better brush settings for flesh..

..hmm..

Hello all!

First post.

I dig the idea of the daily sketch thread, for I like to doodlez all the time.

No skills in shading, perspective or colour so bear with my sketches. (I'd really like some advice on books to get - especially for beginners.)

All criticism are appreciated.

Epic fail on theme, but it's my first sketch for the thread so I wanted to put it up anyway.

Small story while drawing it:

I sat beside this absolutely cute asian girl named Mai. Her cuteness+hotness inspired me a lot. (LOL)

hey everyone, great topic today...

I'm not a fan of mechanics when it comes to drawing them but its was fun combining it with flesh.

Haahahahahaaahaha I totally misread the topic.... I just saw fleshy and didn't see the blob part until I was done. LOL

redEye - nice job. very on topic
Mitze - cool concept

nice going people

sorry, i forgot the hi-tech part. i only remembered the words "mechanical" and "fleshy blob". it's been a long day so it went very quick and i had no fuel left for changes

Very cool stuff, Mitze and Denzo. I love the use of environment in both of yours.

Forgot the high-tech bit in mine as well - in fact, I purposely went with more of an antique-look...before I realized the topic specified otherwise. I have to say that I liked my original sketch better than the final product. When I went into Photoshop to give it some color, it ended up becoming way too Photoshoppy (and, of course, the more I did to try to fix it, the more a mess it became.) All well, it'll just be something to learn from and watch out for next time.
