I love the detail you have for the pencil drawings. Keep it up.
This ork painting is awesome. Is that a z-brush or mudbox model?
ninjacat11: thanks man, glad you like it.
DARAF: hey man, thanks i did it in zbrush, then did a quick polypainting inside zbrush ( for the tatoo and the skin color ) then compo some render in Photoshop and overlayed some texture img etc.. was really fun to do . It's kinda the same technique than Aaron Sims except that he makes his render inside xsi.

Some cool work - wicked 3d - try some more values in your pics. Try pay more attention to light and shadow to help push the form

One tip towards getting proportions right is to look at stuff in a mirror (or flip the pic if working digital)... you'll see some "wonkiness" or "skew" come out and it will give you some insight as to what mistakes you are making.
From looking at your life drawings I don't see any sort of construction lines and so I wonder if you are drawing the form of things, or if you are looking to the contour, the outline shape of what you are drawing. Breaking those forms down into basic "chunks" to get a sense of mass in your figures will help you. Having that understructure will put you in a position to make a more confident, and interesting line. Also you'll learn the structure of things in a better way for those times that you'll want to do invented characters and be able to make them move and act.
The more you draw from life the better off you'll be and there is a lot of good going on in the life work that you're showing. The more you do it the more fluid, and elegant you'll get.
Good Stuff. Happy New Year.
thanks a lot for your comment Bill. you're right i used a bad approch on these first life drawings . I actually tried to draw the model on the fly without really take the time to do the construction line. The next sessions will start again in January, i'll try to use the barque method by drawing only the contour first.
Happy new year to you too man
long time no post damn. After having seen a workshop given by scott robertson at the cgcon event. I wanted to try the technique he showed us to generate quick design idea. I'm not a pro 2d artist so it's a really good practice for me to do those "quick" painting.
Basically i generate an abstract symmetrical shape with my webcam, make a bunch of snapshot than pick one and paint over it. Pretty Fun
here are my first tests (that's supposed to be a fast process so those are done in about 1 and 2h ) , hope you like it. C&C are very welcome ^^.
here is another one, i tried to make a more complete illustration this time.
must have a tons of mistake in terms of lightings and color theory as it's one of my first try in 2d painting so if you have any advices or critics feel free to shoot guys .
hi folks, here is another tentative in digital painting. i should really practice more often ^^ i kinda like the baggy jeans as well as the jacket, but the face sucks obviously. i will give more attention to it in my next trys.
