Kei's Art dump July 16 to November 6th

Hi everyone,

I've been meaning to post a dump of all my work every month but much of my work these past 5 months have been for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland so I didn't have too much to show
You'll have to wait until 2010 when the movie comes out. argghhh... hehe

But here are some images of other stuff I've been doing!

Here's my contribution to the Art of Streetfighter book

For Dean Yeagle's book

A couple weeks ago I went to the zoo for the Toronto Sketch Crawl.
What a great turn out it was! Not even the gloomy weather and rain could stop us--that's what being an artist is all about, right?! It was really great to see friends and new faces come together and sketch whatever they saw. I just wish the zoo stayed opened for a lot longer, but it just makes me want to come back more regularly.

Here are more from a life drawing class this past week..As I was drawing these, my main objective was to just simply have fun drawing with the conte by using different edges from really soft to hard.
I've just been so uptight with my self lately with work and other projects.I needed to get loose and draw more intuitively--I find that there's more ease and pleasure when you draw without worries and still keeping in mind of the fundamental structure of what you're drawing.
But really I think if its practiced more often, those fundamentals will just flow out of you more naturally, because its already embedded in your technique and methods..hope that makes sense.
These are from 1 min to 10 mins...

Here's a few more girls I did recently for Alberto Ruiz's "Eye Candy From Strangers" book!

I used a black watercolor pencil, a red/blue pencil and some burnt sienna ink w water.

Here are some sketches I did during our "outdoor subway sketchgroup"..
... because it was just too nice outside to stay underground in the subways .

I was at the Toronto Sketchcrawl and I was absolutely amazed by your painting skills. I had difficulty drawing the Meerkats and you've managed to PAINT them along with other animals.

My favourite one is still the scene with the people drawing the hippos. You know why? Because I'm in it!

Awesome style and awesome work, and Bobby's too. Very inspiring.

Awesome work Kei!

If I could ask, how did you get the Alice in Wonderland gig? What's it like to work with Tim Burton?
