I've been a huge fan of CA for several months. I've finally decided to give posting my art a shot. Please try to be constructive as well as encouraging with your comments. I live off of artistic inspiration. Thanks for looking.
The Cave Exploration paint is from a Nat Geo photo. ~30-40 mins
The b/w robo is just random. I'm trying to get better at hands at least. ~10 mins
The Warlock is from an action figure that I glanced at for a few seconds. ~30 distracted mins on that one.
The two color characters. ~20-25 mins of wasting time.
The last b/w pic with stamp brushes. ~5 mins.
ooh i really like the cave...! like something spookie is in it!
welcome to CA!
and keep it up.
and the color figures arent a waste of time
as for tips try adding some lines on the clothes and shading them. unless of course thats not what you want
I like the images and the sketchy style on the colour figures. The cave exploration image gives a good sense of depth though you could probably get away with even more contrast in the values as your silhouetted figure is darker than many of your darker shadows deep in the cave shaft (actually having looked at it again, that might just be the optical illusion of the very light sky - if so, ignore that crit). In the black and whites it feels like there is a uniform level of detail throughout, which results in a lack of a focal point.
All of the above is purely my entirely uninformed opinion. Great set of images though. I shall look forward to the next batch
torstan: The b/w stuff is harder than I thought. Good advice. Thx
JinRa: Haha. Yeah, I definitely need some more lines.
Verehin: Thanks. I'll try to do more like that one I think.
