elsewhere's drawings. Moving forward, slowly.

Hi! I've recently got back into drawing and I thought I'd make my own sketchbook in here. I took quite a long break from drawing but now it's time to kickstart the ole art-engine again. I hope you like my art, if you don't then please crit it to pieces. I want to improve!

That's all for now, please leave a comment!

Hey, you're off to a good start. love the appleface.
to try and be a bit more helpful: I think you should have another look at the perspective in the quick landscape. the sides of the floor the building is standing on have a vanishing point on the horizon which would be way further up actually. I'm not so good at explaining I'm just thinking of on-point perspective here.
really like the one you posted the process of. cool design just a minor nitpic is that I think the very straight line the shoulder plates present stiffens (if thats even a word.) the figure too much. Good brushwork, though-
don't take a long break again!

hey, thanks for your reply! I don't quite see the floor-issue on the speedpaint, but I do know that it has some problems with perspective. Rushed it a bit too much I guess.. thanks for the crits mate, i really apprecciate it!

Here's an old sketch i forgot to upload before, might aswell post it:

Great start my friend! Try messing up your surfaces and breaking your forms some more to make them more interesting. Post more!

Messy character drawing, just experimenting with brushes and such:

This is a female character that I will spend some more time on drawing, hopefully you'll get an update tomorrow. Also I had to use reference to get the body right, chicks are bloody hard to draw x.x oh well I'm quite happy with the way it turned out:

She looks pretty solid to me. My only thought would be to maybe bring her nose down a bit... or her eyes up. Or just make her head taller. Haha, her nose seems a bit too short, and her upper lip a bit too long, which takes away a bit of the beauty from her face.

And I love the swamp monster silhouette

hey man, i diggin your silhouettes and ur brushy stuff. one common thing i can see with your stuff is that you can get caught up on certain details like a face lighting or small details in the armor. this is going to burn you out pretty quickly, try mixing it up while your painting. for example after your intial rough try evenly layering the details, stage 1 25% stage 2 50% etc etc. and if you do catch yourself sitting on one detail, move on to another and so on. anywho, good luck and keep drawing.

TOOLED!: True, true. I do focus too much on specific details, and that's not a good thing. Good advice man, and thanks for stopping by!

ninjacat11: Alright, well thanks for commenting!

Tiny update, I've been spending the whole week in Norway so I have'nt been able to draw that much, but more stuff will come tomorrow hopefully.

Pretty good start man. Just keep it coming and keep drawing. Think about concentrating alittle bit more with your values. Some good still life studies would be good for you.

You're good at anatomy and form, but you could improve on mood, perspective and color. Apart from that you need to spent more time on the design itself, instead of rushing to the presentation right away. Also try to study different materials such as different metals, cloth, wood, plastic, ect.

I like the blue man. You're good. Keep it up!
