Hope this will finally keep me away from games... I rarely did SPs in the past, maybe because other people are prettier, dunno.

Thanks guys lol
Time to really get started now. SPs are the hardest thing for me and not only because my face is kind of difficult structure-wise.
your pencil work has a great consistency and flow about it.... great progress so far dude ...keep em coming ..!!
Thanks mate! Sadly I can't serve with pencils rght now but I sure enjoy doing the traditional!
I am amazed how mch that one turned out not looking like me at all haha
Today a littel constructing...
Thanks man! Yeah analysing and constructing sure gives me a few pointers on here things go rong I'll be much more rigid for the ongoing ones.
Doing today's after a bargue-drawing. It's really hard to simplify the forms to fit the theme espescially hair! I will do this again tomorrow I think, great exercise!
Haha yeah bargue is pretty cool, although in the simplification-process the likeness can easily get lost. Careful!
Anyway, today's turned out a bit better (Considering the hair), But I think I wll do more painting, I need brushstroke-practice.
Comparing the first portrait and the last one.. Thats one hell of a improvement! I have to do painting portraits too my brushstrokes are weak >=/
Thank you! Good luck with your strokes!
Thanks man, honestly, I'm not really doing much measuring right now, and it shows unfortuately
Really not having been myself the past few days...
hmmm 3:44 am it is indeed.
Thanks man! Although the last one really was a fuckup. I had it all in pretty crazy colors but then I turned it grayscale to check for values without saving it first. Sine I have no undo-function I had to recolor it entirely. Ddn't work out
Anyways. after a frustrating day at the academy where all the exercises backfired at me I at least put some effort into my skintones before calling it quits for today...

Linda uses turquoise too!! xD i mean on skin tone xD
@Leysan: Thanks! I was aiming for it and it's good to hear that a study paid off
@ algenpfleger: hehe, I really have mixed feelings about Lindas art, she is technically perfect and her skintones are masterful. Although I don't like her subject matter that much (With very few exceptions like this stylized faerie pic. That is pure awesome), too much gothic-pinup for me. Also, I prefer art where the strokes are more visible, Lindas art is a tad too fine in some places,.
@Galaxis: hehe, I know she uses whatever the lighting demands. Turquoise also happens to be my favourite colour . There is no skin-tone-color, you can paint any surface and material with any color you want just make it fit somehow.
If only 16 oct's portrait has some fur and some fangs, you will be like a werewolf
Yeah I prefer art with brushstroke visible too
Dammit I still suck at charcoal that medium is hard as fuck to control, especially on a A4-sheet of cheap printing paper @_@
Haha, then you nshould check out her sketch thread! http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthre...?f=31&t=301385
But of course I agree with you, fairies aren't my thing either. But you know what Confucius said, "If I travel along with others they may serve me as teacher, I'll select their good qualities and learn from them, and recognize their bad qualities and avoid them." Not that something as personal as the favorite choice of subjects would qualify as a "bad quality", but you know what I mean
Oh and I see you recognized exactly what makes skintones Everything actually, it's just the light that makes the form visible.
Loving these latest ones man, keep pushing!
Hey Hannes, thanks for the link, although the images are not that recent. Don't get me wrong, Linda is awesome, simply put, I enjoy looking at her art, it's just not something I want to do myself
