The links don't work for me at the moment, but I think I know what it is, I believe I saw it on his bulliton on myspace.

It was really AWSOME! I really love hearing his words, and I really agree with the individual thing he was on about.

*sigh* Actually I think about this stuff every day so it wasn't any discovery for me. It was still nice to hear some concerns about it, especially from great artist.

Amazing, I listen to this one and Jason Manley which I at first did not know it was an entire show and thought it was just the text. But now that I've listen I think it is a great thing that you've done, both are extremely inspirational and give great knowledge. Thank you, Jason, and Marko for these interviews.

Marko's doing interiors now? That's news to me. The clones issue is not news but I was surprised to hear Marko's strong feelings about it. He's absolutely right in what he said and I also think it's good to get that out in the open, I just didn't realize how bigger and more serious issue it is for the MB artists.

I remember being on the Marko Fandom bus. Those were the most fustrating times but at the same time it helped me improve. I wanted to be as great as Marko and at the same time not DO Marko. I would literally stare at Wes, Marko and Puddin Heads drawings litterally staring at them. Trying to figure out what am I missing. Anatomy, so I did my anatomy. Rendering so did my grey scales. Character, so I do culture studies everyday. That was the plus side. The minus was I was constantly in road blocks didn't know what to do to get out. "Do Marko". "No" I was too stuborn. I filled a sketchbook full of MY cool drawings but I was still irratated by them. I was still in that Fandom mode. But I got tired of trying of doing Marko. I think Kev broaden my horizon of what I need to do to become better for myself. I've only done one drawing that Practacily said 'Marko' on it and it was just scribble. I was at the Revalations when some guy pointed at it and said "Marko influence". He loved it, I didn't. I kind of laugh and thought What was I thinking (that hes the badest MoFo around and I got be like him!). But its just not fun at all trying to do someone else. I'm happy to say I failed misserably trying to be someone else. But it help me a lot in finding my own style. Though I'm still a hardcore fan.

Now I got to get Thor!

I had similar thing to Micaiah Nelson with Marko's stuff and it wasn't exactly copying but learning certain things. Of course I improved but after short amount of time some of my characters started to look a too similar. Hopefully I woke up from that, deleted whole inspiration folder from my computer and it went back to normal. Later I realised I have actually much stronger vision for my environments and it leads to some interesting results so characters are on second place right now.

wow that interview was very inspiring! Also very interesting to hear Marko's voice since I had basically no idea of what he sounds like. Although his accent isn't as apparent as I hoped it to be.

Looks like they haven't shipped it yet. Link to studio and what Marko did can be seen in this thread: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=208853

I take it from the podcast that he got paid 10k for a months work (3 weeks actually)?

Rock star!

Great interview, Marko! I've been listening to the Sidebar interviews while at work for some time now. It was great to see some of my CA people get some love on there! This was one of the best interviews I've heard on there as well. Most of the time they serve more as a "Behind the Music" sort of thing. They ask questions about where the artist came from, etc. But Marko kept talking about issues that were relevant to the art community. Things for the listener to chew on. Alot of the other interviews seem to be lacking in these sorts of discussions but I do hope it starts a new theme. Chase those rabbits Marko! I always enjoy hearing the insights of those artists who are so much taller then me and the rest of us trying to build up the confidence to put the pencil to paper. We take your thoughts to heart and I know I spend time mulling over what these things mean to me personally. So thanks for sharing! If we do get a CA.org Podcast in the future I hope it's more about stuff like this. It'd be so cool to hear more round table discussions about these art issues. As Marko was sharing I almost was wishing Coro or Jason was there with him to bounce back their own feedback. Interesting stuff and thanks again!

Oh and yes, I bought both of the Thor books when I saw them at the shop last week! Looking lovely, Marko. 10 days each? Insane! Maybe next podcast you can talk about how to improve your focus when it comes to drawing! You mentioned you're a very focused individual. I often times find it difficult to fininish one drawing in my sketchbook. I start doodling and then I loose interest and move right on to something else. Rinse and repeat. Maybe I need to take some meds or something. Heh.

Looking forward to more! And kudos to you as well Jason! Make the rest of the guys do this thing! Heh.
