Okay, so let’s jump into this mentoring thingy. I’ve checked your works and I think you could also teach me a thing or two about enviro drawing, shading and brushes I hope I can also teach you something useful about anatomy. I’ve also checked your mentoring thread and I can only repeat what you wrote there: I am not a professional and you should not take everything I say for granted.
So first of all I want you to introduce yourself. Tell something about your artistic background, what have you learned so far why do you want to learn anatomy and what aspects of anatomy do you want to focus on?
As you have no figure or portrait drawings at all, I think we should solve this problem first, so that I can see what strengths and weaknesses you have.
Draw two different portrait and two different nudes!
- Use reference for the first portrait and for the first nude (and show the chosen refernces), and use no reference for the second ones.
- The nude images must show the whole figure, the portraits must show the whole head.
- Don’t use colors! Every image must be grayscale.
- Capture at least three work in progress images of each drawing! I’d like to see your working method. I also want you to explain it in a few words.
You can find references for the nudes here
And for the portraits here:
(but you can use other references if you'd like to)
Deadline: Thursday, May 22nd
