Hey man, that game is so good it hurts my head.
You got the right color scheme there, looks very gta4.
If you look at the art for gta4, you see there are stylized (sp?) shadows that helps you read the form on stuff, I think that would help alot here. The gun for example, it's got pretty much the same value on all sides. If you made for example the top side lighter and the other to in different shaded values it would look more 3d.
Also maybe you just wanna take a look at his nose, the lower right part seems to have gone missing, and also the lip looks a little funky even if I understand what it is you want to show.
Good luck man!
thanks a lot for the help dude yeah the gun was really hard to do. I tried to make it look shiny but it just ended up flat.
As for the nose and the mouth, i noticed them about 3/4 of the way into finishing it and tried to change them but it just looked out of place because i couldn't get the same effect
anyway thanks a lot again
The location of a problem nose
I agree with glOgg on pretty much everything. My biggest problem with the piece is that it doesn't look enough like Niko. The nose needs to be larger and more rounded and the forehead a bit more protruding. One thing that I really liked about Niko's design is that his eyes have a very gentle softness to them, which contrasted nicely to his gruff exterior and added more to the character. I just don't see that here.
One more thing the hair looks a bit too glued on, it needs to hand down at the front more.
Like glOgg said, the colors fit very well, with a little bit more work on the design, you'll have a pretty good piece.
Hope this helps.
