Cool mate , a suggestion for you would be to be more careful with your shadows remember there is skin over those muscles.

hi phix your most recent post is great and i think shows improvement already i would suggest studying the human figure and then your characters should have an even more lifelike quality to them. its easy to suggest this but harder to put it in practice myself

The proportions are a little loose in some of those sketches, methinks. I'd recommend tightening them up. Oh, and agreed on the anatomy.

Thanks for dropping by my sketchbook. I came to check yours out. One thing that I sure you have been told, is I think you should study your anatomy more and figure construction and keep drawing don't stop.

very nice nice drawing. The line work is very bold, powerful, and interesting. the shadows are done quite well in the pencil sketches. Anatomy needs a little work, but then so does mine as for the paints, the last one is slightly overworked, but still good. Good values. The one before that is good too, but not very 'solid' and grounded in a funny way.

Keep up the impressive work, mate! You're doing well.

your lines are very dynamic, they make your sketches very lively,
i've got only one critic, the hair of the girl in the middle of your page got strange hair, i don't know how to explain, just strangely designed

Hey dude, thanks for droppin' in my SB.

This orc is looking good, definite improvement from earlier paintings.
It looks like you've got a top-down light source (this is one of my favourite lighting situations, hehe), so make sure you keep it consistent.
His sword needs a more shadows, although it looks like you may not have got there yet.
On that note, a good practice in painting is to first clearly isolate the shadows, that's half the problem solved.

You're doing lots of drawing from imagination which is great!
Just don't neglect the studies!

Keep on truckin'.

Wicked art!
You're style is relatively close to what I would like to be. Also how you do the veins on arms, necks, etc is crazy good. I'm gonna practice on that stuff. Anyways thats my rant. Thanks for the inspiration!

Good grief, you updated! (been keeping my eye on ya book here)
The orc looks cool, but I find the green and yellow to be wayyyy intense. Maybe you want it that way, it just seems rather out of character with the rest of the image that's all.

Wow, three tits.

Orc is coming along well, looking much more solid.
The armor plates on the side of torso are a bit flat, though.

Need to update more.

So draw draw draw
Seriously there is a lot of good stuff in your SB. But don't forget some works from references, cause without it you woun't get as far as you can.
Good luck and keep on posting.

Hey Phil, I didn't get to see that render of the goat thing from last, last time! It came out awesome. I think if you ever want to do another polished piece, do it like that! Fill up a whole page and you'll have something that will last you for life. :3
