What style are you looking for and what's your budget for this project?
Hi there, Thank you for your question.
The style I am looking for is shown by the examples on the Elance site. (href located in the original post).
As far as cost, umm, great question ... and I am sure. There are some bids listed on the Elance listing which provide some ranges. But, that being said, I am looking for "the guy" who can get it done and have it look sweet.
So this is a post to advertise a listing at a subscribe-to-see site? Not a big fan of that. If you're posting to get artists from this site, you should do us the courtesy of listing the specs of the job and a way to contact you directly.
I think there has been a misunderstanding. I agree with you, forum spamming is lame.
I am only using the Elance site as a bidding and managment tool for the project. It is just more effiecient for me. No other motivation that that. I am sorry if I offended you.
I took out the elance link and above I included the spec for the project. If any wish to contact me directly please do via PM.

Thanks. Great start, but the samples and a way to contact you would be nice.
May we just have an email address, so we can send you our bids directly, without a third party?
We'll just go to elance, and send you a pm if we're interested. (As Hyver has suggested)
But we don't like elance, because the people that normally use elance low-ball and that restricts our creative freedom. Sorry, we have nothing against you personally.

you could post something like "info thingie keko point com"
you could also tell people to use a specific subject line, to help your spamfilter getting them through
or you could generate a new email addy for this purpose
what we don't want is people flooding the forums with 'send me your email" posts.
so people, in general, when there is no contact info provided, use the PM system!
thanks, *gets off soapbox, misses a step and faceplants*
We agree with Mirana. And also with Hyver, so we're going to remove our posting requesting an email address. But mostly, we agree with Mirana.
by the way, where is the 'groan' button? we want to send a small 'groan' to hyver. teehee...
Lets not crowd up the threads with gossip, I subscribe to this to hear about a job, not to hear thoughts on thread etiquette. Leave the Employment threads professional. It will make you look more professional.
Doing some research into this Elance site didn't take long, and placing bids outside These guidelines is not fare to any artist willing to sign up through the site and place a bid.

You're right Arteater.
We're actually a member of guru.com, (which is pretty much like elance) and we've already paid for a full-year subscription. We don't like it because the guru site takes a percentage of your earnings as commision, you're bound to guru's contractual policies- not your own as a freelancer or studio, and not only that, but you have to pay a fee to be a member to have a full account there in order to bid on projects. It doesn't really make sense to us, for the artist to have to pay money to bid on a project (the job-listers do it for free, ironically), but we decided to try it out once.
If there were a decent forum for projects, where the artist didn't have to pay to get connected, that would just be... well, great!
Either a project posted on elance should stay at elance, or it should be bid separately on CA, independent of third-party vendors.
the groan button was removed some time ago.
...counts to ten...
just doing my duty sir(s)
here, have a hug
and henceforth there shall be no more offtopic tomfoolery
(fade to black)
I feel like that guy in "A Fish Called Wanda"..hanging upside down. " I hereby apologize and fully retract any statement, comment, or reference which may or may not have offended any, without reservation, to and your family and all others known to you or who may have been negatively impacted by the use of elance."
All I was looking to do is hire a good artist, who is cool to work with and wants to do some fun stuff and maybe solve world hunger. I like to work efficiently therefore it would be helpful to have all the bids in one place and format to review quickly. I started on Elance, and found CA through one of the bidders.
For many reasons, most of all the talent pool that is here, I should have started at CA, not at Elance.
If nothing else, it’s a lively discussion about etiquette in forums and the like.
Group hug ( all )
Here are links to my portfolio.
I am ready to do all you want in any style you want.
Thanks a lot for your attention
