Hi guys, this is my second digital piece and my first ConceptArt submission. Its my interpretation of The white rabbit. Constructive criticism is more than welcome.
That's awesome. I love the style.
The only thing, and this just might be me, the background colors seem to be so close to the color of the rabbit that my eye wanders and, to me, the focal point becomes the clothes and the umbrella.
But great work!
Sir, are you classified as human?
Negative, I am a meat popsicle.
Agree with WinstonSmith on the background colour.

Disturbing and pretty. I think the feet need some more work.
I don't agree with WinstonSmith and Hunterkiller about the background - I really like the way it presses in and has a real 'presence' as opposed to just a backdrop. The effect is to make you look at the image as a whole rather than just 'a character' - meaning that the slightly disturbing elements seem to 'agitate' or 'come alive' as your eye scans around the image, never letting you quite settle.
Lovely piece, please post some more!
From Gegarin's point of view
Yes Chris Bennett, thats what i was going for. i wanted the rabbit to have a strong presence, but at the same time I am not as good with backgrounds. I think it might have worked well with a rich fleshed out background and atmospheric negative space.
This is disgustingly, disturbingly wonderful. That eyeball and the teeth make me cringe just looking at it. To go along with the creepy interpretation you have made, I would suggest a film of saliva on those teeth, and maybe a few more visible capillaries in the eyeball. Staring at the rabbit's clothes, I am convinced that he would have a knobby ribcage underneath. Perhaps a tighter grip on the objects it holds. The white rabbit, always rushing, always late.. Hmm, but that is my own weird interpretation perhaps not yours. In any case I would love to know what strange sad world your rabbit would lead Alice down into. Bizarre Wonderlands never get old. I wonder if you had any others in the series?
i think the background looks great. i like that it all runs together and it's what caught my eye while scrolling down the front page. if you where to make the background more contrasting to the rabbit, it may make him look too modeled and a different style all together.
the one thing that does bother me, but just a little bit is the whiskers. they are too white and they kinda float of the painting.
Excellent work, but I think it would benefit if the rabbit was brighter than the background. I was a little distracted by that.
The way I see it ...the thing about background and foreground mixing up is adding to the creepiness of the content, its making it a little hard to see the facts, just a little hard.....and that makes it kinda interesting....it lack of contrast or what not is definitely there because the artist wanted it to be there. Its not just some mindless rendering.I love this, but I agree that the background should at least have more contrast with the main character... i'd suggest making it cooler, or more desaturated.
hey this is a pretty neat concept. . pretty cool. =)
i like it!
post more, i want to see your world

Wow. I really enjoy the ears on the rabbit. The elongated and thinness adds to the decrepit depiction. The colours make it seem sick and breathy. It seems like it's fifty-fifty on the background to foreground with everyone. I agree with both statements (though that's not very helpful ). I wonder what it would look like if you had desaturated the background surrounding the rabbit just a tad bit but left the border colour the same. Also, this could just be because of my taste, but i wonder if some very subtle but prominent lines were defined in key areas of the rabbit? It's not necessary, but an interesting thought. The piece is gorgeous and really captures wary emotions.
this is certianly my new favourite interpritation of the white rabbit
pleeeeeease post more
