I'm going to be gettin back into drawing after about 4 months straight of no drawing and I would like to quickly get into painting.. I just don't know where to start. is there anything I can follow that will help me learn the basics? Like I know I need help with value/shading. Is there anything I can do? Like anatomy studies from Hogarths or Bridgman's book helped me alot with my anatomy and I knew I was doing the right thing.. is there something like this for digital painting? I have both photoshop cs3 and painter so anything will help.. sorry if it sounds like im tryin to rush thru this! Finally have some time to draw and don't want to waste any

If you just do some stuff and post some work we'll be able to give you better crits, and advice on where you should improve.
So just go out and draw/paint/lay down pixels and post it here for criticism.
