Wr00m & andres333: thank you!
Fallenangel: I'm feeling a lot better already . I went back and made some changes to the last piece. I tried darkening the background but it only inflates my biggest problem, which is the white chest of the horse, it draws too much attention. I think I'm going to have to go back and make the whole thing darker, but I don't have time to do it right now.
HumbleEgo: Thank you, I always thought my colors were really saturated, funny how that goes. I do really like to play with grays tho. Maybe I only feel saturated when compared to life? Or maybe life around here is really gray.
I have a schedule now, I'm going to draw something every day dammit.
I have a new fancy schedule, it says I will get lots of done. Worked for today!
Start of a new piece, this time inspiration is from another childhood favorite of mine, chronicles of the kencyrath. I was gutted when I found out on the internet the author had died before finishing the series and that even the books published were impossible to get .
fantasyartist: thank you!
I was going to work on the background, but I just couldn't stop myself from working at the figure first. Just remembered about the papers flying around, and figured those are going to work better than the banners I was going to add. Nurk lurks in the corners!
Your paintings are so kind and warm, I feel like I visited a fairytale after viewing your thread. I must say that I envy you because it's very hard for me to create a kind looking character and you do it so simply! Just keep up the great work and become even MOAR AWESOME!
Been a long break again, but good news is on the way, I'm gonna have a lot of time and energy to dedicate to drawing and painting in just two short weeks! I can't wait.
Thanks for comments everyone, it's great that someone is liking what I do .
Found mugshot archive as mentioned in muddy colors, and decided to have a go. Hopefully will do more of these as time goes, I love doing portraits.
Some sketchy stuff.
Managed to get some progress on my latest painting as well, but thought I'd better just finish it before posting.

The love for portraits shows through. I like those the most.
Keep on becoming awesome !
You have a really neat sketchbook here! Loving all of the traditional work.

mister dark: obsessive personality!
I don't know if this is going anywhere, but it was kinda fun to do. I wish I knew how I learn anatomy! None of my studies seem to pay off and I never remember any muscles and bones when I try. But sometimes things go right, and sometimes they go nowhere, aaargh. Life drawing next week! And stupid head. If I take this further I think I'm going to have to dig myself a head reference from somewhere...
all of these portraits are fantastic, keep it up
i just had look on your thread form 1st to the last page... and you u have improved alot..
Great sketchbook! Always great to see someone handling the traditional paints so well. I also love the lush and appealing colors on your child themed digital paintings (this one's my favorite), I bet it's all the hard work on painting from life paying off. This sketch is another favorite of mine, great composition and sense of light achieved with two tones. On this one, I think the leg (especially the thigh) on our right looks too long and the pose could look more natural if the leg was straighter. Good sense of speed though and great expression. Solid portraits too!
And found that study of the hand photo.
Keep them coming!
Got some nice portraits there; real nice shift in value
FUSHANDCHUPS & Fallenangel: thanks!
smuli: Thanks for the indebth comment! I agree on the legs, I have reworked the pose to work better in the lastest version now, tho I am still a bit worried a about the twist of the leg you mentioned as well. I didn't want to straighten the leg in the fear it will ruin the composition and sense of unbalance. I'll keep meditating on it.
So here's the previous painting, almost done. I kept thinking I'd finish it today, but I think I'm gonna push it to tomorrow.
And here's something that I found when I went through all the stuff I did last year, and seems I never posted it. Actually there was a lot of stuff I don't seem to have posted for one reason or another. But I still like this one, should definately do further style explorations in this direction.
Thanks for comments everyone!
I did sort of finish the latest painting, but I've decided to let it lie for a while.
I was going through my old stuff today, and found a sketch I'd done years ago, don't even remember when, but hadn't finished. I like starting of from song words when sketching, and I though it was suprisingly good at conveying the right feeling even tho it was so old. So I repainted it to a more finished sketch.
First time in ages I've done colors and values completely seperately, I turned out suprisingly well. Great for smooth sky and water. The song is about a girl drowned on a midsummer's eve.
about the centaur i think that his left hand is quite big even if we count in the perspective, great color scheme and brush strokes as usual though.
The portrait: it seems that the nose and the eyes are bit off (his left eye is higher than the right), about the nose it seems as the bottom part of his face turned to us and the higher part is turned left.
The colors are quite good though i prefer your more saturated color scheme- maybe it's the settings of my/your monitor though.
Anyways, great job overall, keep up with those updates!
Fallenangel: Thanks for the comments! I'm really interested overall in the asymmetry of the human face, and this guy was pretty good at it. Tho I might have overdone the nose a bit.
Another mug! Got new comp and new photoshop running. but it seems I'll have to go get my old brushes, or figure something out. The natural media brushes seem really unpredictable.
