You've got some wicked stuff here dude! I absolutely love your style, keep it up!
Though, I must ask.. Did you ever finished the WIP on post #18 (ultra old, I know haha) of a teddy bear attacking, with the toy soldiers and blocks?? I thought that the sketch was absolutely brilliant! Certainly something I'd love to see finished.
Thanks heaps. I didn't finish the bear one, but here's another I just started.
I haven't spent long on it just yet, but I just KNOW the composition / size of the bear can be pushed a lot more, but can't quite figure what to do... so while i'm toying away just posting this here for some awesome feedback that you guys always give. Hehe.
Edit: some progress.

Your lines are so swooshy ^-^
The gorilla story art pushed me to make a folder for you in my Inspiration file.
Crit for the black bear pic:
I'm finding most issue with the bear's face. It's behind the log, but presumably its muzzle sticks out.. but there doesn't seem to be enough space/distance between its face and the log for that to be possible, so it flattens it out and kinda gives a pug dog feel.
I'd like to see the red eye emphasised more maybe put it further away from the red-ish log or open it more -- try to make sure it's unambiguous from bloodshot from being tired.
Right now it's a bit unclear to me whether it's sleeping or just collapsed from battle, or trying to hide behind the log. The expression says 'frustrated', though it's a bit hard to tell because the muzzle is covered.
The black of the bear is kinda dead-space-y, so maybe put more light on the head to make it pop, perhaps give some texture.
The poked-out eye is very bright, especially given it's mostly in shade. (I was gonna say it's flat, but that kinda works for the cartoony stylised thing here.) Maybe you want it to have lots of emphasis and stylisation, just strikes me as a bit extreme given you have more subtle details throughout the rest.
I'm not exactly sure what the form is on the part of the rock that meets the other part on the left (as in if you asked me to sculpt it, I wouldn't be sure about the part in shade)... also wouldn't the sticky out bit of snow throw it into shadow a bit?
I just realised I can't read where the log ends on the right. Is that its back leg or...? Is it just a log or is it like a wood bed or something? Or is it that it broke off in a semi-jagged way? (I guess the latter?)
Been lurking around in this thread for a few months now, about time I drop a comment. Like many other, I love your style - especially your inky sketchbook stuff, great lines and a great feel to it. The graffiti painting skull in a hoodie is a favorite.
The last illustration with the bear turned out great!
My Sketchbook: Blunder's Blund-o-rama
Maybe the white cross could be a plaster as I could see the kid putting one on the bear. Lovely story to go with it.
Thanks for yer comment in my thread....I've been burried by life...sorry it's taken me a while to get back over here.
Lovin the digital tough-guy-orc-thang in #479 and the group in 482 'specially the twisting dragon. Lotza energy there!
The bear illustration above is really nicely done. So is that a commission for a book?
Anywho...still lovin yer style and creativity!
Ciao fer now
Thanks everyone. 3:30am reply yay!
Lulie - Thanks heaps for that amazing feedback. I've yet to get back to this image yet, decided to step away from it but keen to get back into it in the morning. I agree with most of what you've suggested, and will try to push the image further. Thanks heaps.
Blunderguffer - Thanks heaps mate! ^^
Black Spot - Thanks, yeah the cross is a little out of place... so a plaster would fit more for sure. Thing is I really like the chalky cross I've been seeing on works like McBess', and would really like to try imply something like a missing eye more figuratively with a symbol. Just a personal exercise, I'll be working on it more so we'll see how it goes aye? Thanks heaps for pointing it out though!
Snafu - Thanks heaps!! Appreciate it!
Jephyr X - Hey mate, no worries, I hope you're keeping well and kicking life in the balls. If not I'll kick it there for you, 'kay? The bear pic isn't for a book, just personal shape playing.
Here's a random one from tonight, was on a bit of a downer today, but got a good random-wtf sketch session out, and feeling good / loosened up.
Hey mang! I take it you've been busy too! Well I still demand an update!
I almost took you up on that ball kickin' thang...but now my life is sorted. ahhhhhhh I hope all is well in yer whirld!!
Anywho diggin the last 2 paintings and the headphones. You really have a unique character and color sense and style!!
Hope to see ya soon!
Thanks Jephyr X
PROFANITY IN NEXT PIC, OH MY!
Was a bit of a long day at work today, got home and vented on paper, actually happy with the doodle that came out but, not keen to be in that mindset for too many occasions Haha.
Feeling good now, see you's again soon!
Also, Going to go ahead and scam for votes here....
Please vote / rate for me if you like! Click here
Entered a competition lately to design a tee. The work doesn't look much like what I normally do, but there were printing limitations in place that were intersting to try work around. The comp's open for a little while longer, and if you like my design I'd really appreciate some votes / ratings (same thing) and some shares on fb or g+ or whatever, all situated under the pic.
Thanks heaps, here's the design:
Cool design! I just voted 5/5. You had 182 votes then! Good luck on it...hope you win!
Your "bad day" doodle is whacked...completely hits the right note for me about a bad day!
Ciao fer now
That 'bad day' was exactly how I felt last Thursday. I actually told someone to "Shut up as some people had work to do." At least he had the sense to back off and joke about it the next day.
While it's cute, think about where the strings are going to go. At the moment they shoullld be crossing the skull face.
awesome cartoon work man with personality.
You seem very dedicated to that and that's great!keep up man, i really like your colors too
