Starting a sketchbook finally.
I have a severe lack of basics and theory, so it's going to suck on various levels. Plus I mostly draw primitive anime (yeah, I know). I'm 22, russian, an artist wanna-be. Been playing around with photoshop for the whole 5 years, with little profit. Really want to apply to an art school.
Images are attempts to do something with colour - without references. So far I only managed two colours, it would seem. And it's either animu or horses.
Human attempt. About an hour, no refs. Pretty pointless.
Without refs the horses don't look too bad. The shapes are there, next step would be to really look at all the muscle groups horses have and add those as well. Horses are after all very strong. You did add arm muscle details in your last pic, that's why those life drawings are really helpful you start to notice those things more and more.
Good luck with your sketchbook.
