Glen Angus (gangus), Rest in Peace.

Just received the news:

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?p=4532991

Quote:
I just wanted to write this post to let everyone in the CG community know that we've lost one of the greats today. Glen Angus, known as gangus on CGTalk, died today from apparent complications due to an aneurysm. I worked with Glen for many years at Raven Software, and he was a great friend to me and just about anyone who knew him. I know Glen was a very active and popular artist on these forums, so I thought it would be the right thing to do to let you all know as soon as possible. Please join me in wishing the best for his wife and two children during this time of loss. Rest in peace Glen, you were the best.

Jason Smith
You'll be missed Glen. A tremendous loss.

Additionally from Jason:
Quote:
Hey guys, all Glen's friends and family appreciate the outpouring of support from the community. Glen's best friends Dan Hay and Mitch Cotie, as well as Raven Software are doing whatever they can to take care of the family and all the financial arrangements stemming from his passing.

The best way we can all support Glen's wife and children is contribue whatever we can to The Glen Angus Memorial Fund:

Glen Angus Memorial Fund
c/o Park Bank
P.O. Box 8969
Madison, WI 53791

Any amount will help.

A link to the Raven Software "Passing of Glen Angus" page can be found here.
http://www.ravensoft.com/glen_angus.aspx It contains the information above, as well as information related to Glen's autistic 2 year old son, Teddy. Let's all do what we can to honor Glen's memory and help his family.

Thanks guys,

Jason

Couldn't believe it when I heard. This is very shocking news. His artworks were truly inspiring and his Victory Gals thread was one of the best I have seen in this place.

He will be missed by everyone who got to see his art and talent.

Deeply condolences to his family.

I still can't even believe the news. Glen was a good coworker, and a dear friend. He always listened to me when I had something on my mind, and his advice meant a lot to me. I looked up to his skills as an artist, and his great sense of humor. I am ashamed that we never got to finish our chat from Monday morning. There is so much shit I wish I could tell him now-

I wanted to thank him for helping me out with loadscreen practice on MUA.

I wanted to thank him for helping me get better at texturing game models.

I wanted to thank him for all the good times we had at takara, pf chang's,
and at Dan's house.

I wanted, more than anything, to thank him for helping me when I was down.

Glen, I miss ya buddy

Very sad news, it's so unfair that someone so wonderful can be taken away so suddenly, at such a young age. My thoughts will be with his family.

This is very sad news.

I dealt with Glen recently in a work capacity, and he always came over as polite, generous and professional.

I'm sure his friends will miss him terribly, but I can't imagine how awful this his for his young family. My heart goes out to his young children and his wife.

So...shocking. I thought his artwork was so inspirational.
I like many others enjoyed such threads as the Victory Gals one.

This is an immense loss, and very sad.

Love to his family in this difficult time.

I fell in love with his work when I saw Filling Valhalla, and since then been amazed by his visions. And like myself he prolly influenced alot of people with his amazing work. The body might die, but the man and his ideas live on in our future works.

Best wishes to his loved ones.

his work was really inspirational. he was a great member of this community, and I noticed that he was always more than ready and willing to share his process and knowledge with the those less experienced.

he'll definitely be missed.
