Hey Howie, thanks for commenting in my sketchbook
I like that monochromatic jungle painting, and the structure in the same post. Love the sharp edges, how did you get them so sharp? Did you use polygonal lasso tool and sharpen filter, or is it just brush magic?
Anyway, like the use of colour, but your last portrait really needs more contrast (and eyes)
Howie! Your environments are looking good, you show a good grasp of atmospheric perspective and values, this is really good!
You still need to work on your anatomy and proportions though - but I'm sorry if you hate to hear it, believe me, i've heard it a thousand times, too. But you have good grasp of color and values, and that's actually the HARD stuff -- the drawing will come with practice. Good on ya!
“It is enough that we set out to mold the motley stuff of life into some form of our own choosing; when we do, the performance is itself the wage.”
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed." ~Albert Einstein
Thanks for the replies
@zelda_geek: yea all I used was the lasso tool, it makes structural things a lot easier to draw
@Nerahla: Thank you for your honesty, i definitly agree my anatomy needs work, i've gone back to studing Bridgman lately and when im not too lazy ill post some of those sketches up
anyway i took the advice and pumped up the values on the head, looks a lot better now
and some doodles
