Zombie Self Potrait

Err Crit me please thanks, this took me 30 minutes. I used one form of pencil 6b . And I tried to show a few things, the spider coming from the mouth digging into MY skin when hes trying to get out, as you see this spider is strong. I tried to show the spider eyes in the center of the mouth trying to brake through the teeth. Bulging eye on the left, no eye on the right, veins, ripped skin from the mouth to nose with a maggot coming from the left side nostrel (my right nostrel), I took a picture with a ps2 memory card in my mouth to get that sort of shape. I tried to get an old dead sort of skin texture , even know the picture I took had alot more light I wanted to show the sign of darkness by cutting the light down on the sketch, I made ingraved bones on the cheeks and for the eyes to have a very old feeling, lol I nearly took longer to the write this than to sketch it

Nice concept.
Try using different pencils, ranging from 9B to 6H, give or take a bit. This'll help a lot with shading and different tones. Since this seems like a horrific, dramatic drawing, dramatic and horrific shadows will help. Using one single pencil isn't a good idea unless you have a lot of experience in that field.
The face seems to be leaning to the side too much, the teeth look like prison bars, and it's hard to decipher one thing from another.
Practice the basics.
