Reminds of a cover for one of the old AD&D books.

!

I think I did ok on this one. I'm happy with the composition but I couldn't get the lighting and shading the way I wanted, so I left it like this.

underwaterFaces

Started with a custom 'wall of faces' brush and went from there. Had no idea where it was going but im glad it ended up somewhere!

And if it looks 'squashy' thats coz it is. I started the file with a widescreen pixel aspect ratio and couldnt figure out how to reset while maintaining the same width...if you guys could help me out with this issue id appreciate it.

hey very nice work all around guys! some really cool approaches; here's my humble attempt:

realized afterwards that the image progressively got darker so it lost alot of detail. ahh well live and learn; a little over an hour in painter.

It's not finished, but you get the idea. i barely touched the travelers.. an hour more should do it.. just wanted to get something up for now as a placeholder.

whatdya think so far?

"the two reach the depths of an unholy place.. a place the gods have forgotten and the dead wander.."

hay DimMak thanks for the feedback, i actually impressed myself with this one too! haha its my first solid attempt at completing a scene which i was pretty prepared to throw in the towel for half way in, but that is something i am learning the more i paint. The difference between beeing good and being great seems to be determined by when you decide to stop. I guess you will see what i mean when i post my fallen valkyrie this week. I am putting some solid hours into this one.

Maybe you should have a crack at it too? I know you love the DSG but the more you paint the better! And its pretty obvious coz we are both getting better with each one!

Got a little busy, so the concept ended up being better than the execution.

Methegelfing: That's hella cute.
Ashton: Reminds me of the comic Hieroglyph. Never really took off - concept is star trek meets egyptian archeology meets Cthulu.

hey thanks for the comments Wixxi,
I was not sure if I killed it with the
dodged white highlights.

Bad Luck

I am glad it reminds you of something.

I wonder what william b thinks.

MetheGelfling makes me laugh thats deep, you should work this up more into a real killer drawing.

goran Ah the power eraser, I want one but they seem expensive 7000yen us$70.

3one You have a running style obviously, the heads remind me of an icon font called... grotesque

Had something that I had just begun to sketch with pencils ... but there is simply no time. Will get back to this when my trials are over.

Interesting concept and some really nice pieces here! Truly inspiring!
