Film in development seeks Concept Artist:

Hi, my name is Matt Waldram and I am an (aspiring) writer/producer based in the UK. Myself and my co-writer/director are currently in the early stages of creating a film entitled 'Ravens' Bower'

The film is a Mythic, Supernatural revenge drama set in the fictional world of The Bower. It is a Western/Fantasy which features elements from many centuries drawn together, so that the era/setting becomes something about halfway between the iconic Mad Max movies and the, equally iconic, Dark Tower novels by Stephen King.

I'll not go into the details of the story, but we have managed to create a real buzz about this and have one hollywood star confirmed as the lead villain, and another two currently looking over the treatment with a view to taking up the other two major roles. We also have a highly experienced crew in place with a lot of major a-list movies in their filmography.

The big sticking point, as with all movies, is getting people to stump up the cash - and so myself and my director are currently in conversation with 4 companies for funding. Ultimately we're going to have to pitch to these people to convince them to part with their hard-earned money, so we need some great stuff to pitch...and this is where you all come in:

We're looking for a concept artist to create images of 5 of the major characters, as well as creating images of some of the key scenes in the film. The sort of artist we're looking for has to be able to draw dark, brooding characters and should be able to visualise this Western -style world that is actually very different to late-1800s America.

At this point we can't offer any specific sums of money, but we would be keen to make an arrangement that says you would get some return for your work once we succeed in getting the funding...and if we really like your work (which i'm sure we will) - then we'll involve you in the further Concept Art and Storyboarding for the film....if you're interested, that is.

Wow - well I just wanted to say thanks for the, pretty overwhelming, response to this ad. I was expecting two, maybe three, people to actually pick it up - but loads of you came forward...so "thanks".

Also, the level of talent on display was, frankly, terrifying.

By now everybody who I received an email from has been sent a response, and we have decided on the artist we want, and agreed to move forward with him.

For those of you who we didn't select, as I mentioned in your emails, in the end this really wasn't decided by talent because you all have more of it in your little fingers than I have in my entire body - it was just about whose work best matched our own visions.

As our artist came from this website, I - or our artist - will be updating the forum with news of the film and with any finished concept art for you to salivate over.
