This is an interesting concept to do a portrait in watercolors. I like the dramatic lighting but I don't think that you have as much control over the colors and space when you use this medium. I think that you should try using oils if you would like to get a more exact portrait. I think this is good but a little muddy. If the lines are more precise then I think this will improve it.

thanks for your thoughts on that selfportrait ...
thrilling thing about the watercolours, especially when doing it wet in wet is the struggle between control and the "life of its own" of the colours. Your are right, i´m in need for more control, but watercolour depends on speed and spontaneous action which you cannot correct. Whats done is done, for good or bad ... i like that spirit ... anyway ... here is one i did with acryl ... original size 50 x 70 cm ... pretty bad camerashot, but here it is

You look a little bit evil in the first one, but I like it. Looks realy cool, nice job!

In the second one you look a little bit ill, because you used the blues and greens, don't really like that effect. and the face looks sad too, what makes it a little bit depressed, being ill.

yeah, the first one really looks cool !

wow top notch each and everyone of them and above all you make a great model for yourself too

love it how in this image you have blended your skin tones to the background and you have minimum of typical flesh tone colours but yet the skin is looking like skin

In this one you look quite handsome

I like the colours you used in this painting but it does not so much look like the other rendering above in my post, most especially the mouth area, hence there is no photo of you here cant crit more

I love the watercolour painting this one the way you handled the medium is really interesting and nice
