disclaimer - I KNOW it's no where near as great as the other works I see on here regularly - but I AM getting better each attempt and am currently studying a few books on anatomy and polymer clay techniques...

No need for a disclaimer on that one!
It is PRICELESS to the couple, in that it is Personalized. You will simply NEVER find another one like it on the planet.
For an occassion such as a wedding, things like Cake Toppers are special. You have made a REALLY special one.
I love the way her hand is splayed out in back, and her expression, as if she's not real sure of the ride she's signed on for, and the way the groom is looking at her with a confident smile. The flowers are cool, as is all the "stuff" at their feet...

I so hate giving you all these ass-pats, but I cannot find anything to critique about it, simply because you made it exude such cuteness, and happiness, and that makes it some of the best stuff I've seen in awhile because of the emotional response it evokes...

Congratulations! Now, go do that again 10,000 times, and you can have 2 weeks vacation in Aruba...lol!

Great Job J! Getting that first response back from the couple is always the most nerve wracking part of the process. Can't wait to see more.

I like what you've done here. Hope to see more expressive sculptures.

Wow - Thanks to all of you for your compliments! They mean alot after drooling at pieces that I've seen posted here...lol

It'll take me a little bit to get to Aruba - I am only working on my 2nd commissioned piece right now, I'll post pics of it in a few days/weeks.

Seriously - I was soooooo happy when my client saw it and was overjoyed; I've never felt that way in my life

madster, your critique wasn't harsh, but it has pointed out some things that I must polish / work on........

Thanks again!

Congratulations! I think that they are great... I know what you mean by being shy to post things up here. My style is closer to yours than anyone else’s I’ve seen here, so I can relate to it more (I even just finished a cake topper too ). It would be great to learn how you got started.
