I admire your perseverance in doing environments. I cannot say that I am really "feeling it" conceptually, however.

A bit more patience might get you something, they've only been up less than a day...

I'm liking the colours, and the backgrounds matching up perfectly with the chracters in front of them. They're all very attractive pieces.

I'd have agree with emperor_boy, though - there's a bit of a 'recyled' feel to all of these which makes them a bit weak as 'concepts'. A monster looking mean, a warrior looking heroic, an angel looking... angelic. They're very well done, but a bit 'going through the high fantasy motions' as well, if you get what I mean.

You've also used the same 'tricks' in each painting - the same solutions to problems. Almost EVERYTHING has a rim light on it, which is a tried and tested way to make something 'pop out' of the page. But it's not the ONLY way to do it. And anything that's a bit 'organic' - feathers, leaves, hair, whatever, seems to be painted with the same brush, using he same technique. Again, it works, but you're limiting yourself a bit in your approach - there are others. There are a couple of other examples, but you get the idea...

You've got real skill, and I think you could do something more with it. I kind of feel I could probably create almost these exact pictures with an old 'Magic' Card Deck and a pair of scissors.

Love to see some more stuff that WASN'T high fantasy.

Take care

AJ

Alex: why hi there sir, thanks for ur frank words,u indeed hit the point,as of this past year,i've been tryin really hard to come up wit diff ways to paint, but most of them revolves around this style,im a real big fan of Magic/wizard's Art too,so tat explains these pics look and feel to them, yea i did have more patience with some of them, esp my latest works, the dreadgon which is the first piece, took more than two days on and off~im now concentrating on a more classic style and mixed, which u can see on the last two..~OH WAIT I uploaded them but they are not here!!!~

Here they are, sorry!~these are my latest series of vampire avatars from Vampire Wars~
the Dreadlord~

The Bane master

New member+Art to ConceptArt org,Hi guys!~:)~appreciate ur input!

frisbee:WHy thanks alot!~i admit tat was indeed my first and truest motivation!~when i started painting,i always have these wondrous cards illustrations in mind, and i wanted to paint and create that kind of standard, but as i grow in this line,im now starting to slowly carve out my own niche and style(hopefully) though i really need to learn more, esp about composition, apply more perspective, spend more time on design,~

here's one of my sketch~

here's another, just to show one of my way of creation, but i dun relli like tis style,i prefer more traditional, more oioly stuff like foster's,phil, justin sweet's and i would really love to know how to paint lidat~

oh as i 've said,my ways of creation mostly doesnt use lines, the sketches are super raw,and sometimes,i use blocking methods to get the pieces,so here's one of them where i concentrated on the lines first~! so pls enlighten me,if u could!~

Hey.
I really dig the Nafir barbarian, and i secord that a little more patience could do the trick. Patience is something i lack myself, at least when i'm doing stuff on my computer. More sketches!!

the colours are awsome, same for the designs i think. the muscle structures throw me off though. something wrong there. they dont seem natural, or have wieght, mass to them. i think that may be an area for you to look into.

the bloodwing looks like a Dunmar from Morrowind. very cool

hey yo :)

Hey there,

just my 2 cents. I feel that you could do with lesser highlights, especially in the darker areas, gives it a plasticky feel. But! it could just be me so take it with some salt k *grin*
