You see how unfair life is. Women can replace us with a little battery operated gadget that fits in their purses. Try discreetly carrying that thing around.

You wouldn't want to anyway, since it would eventually go nuts and keel you messily. And then a cyber-cop would drop by the crime scene, then go off later to take apart a gang of yakuza with his BFG9000. It's happened before...

Its funny that DigitalShade made a new post about it because he just saw it today. Its also in the NY Post today, and they just referenced it on "PTI" on ESPN. Yet it was unearthed here on CA almost a month ago, so I guess the news outlets in the States are a little behind.

Given the advancements that the Asians seem to be making in this field, it's only a matter of time before an army of androids invade the west.

Hopefully MIT will be able to counter the threat.

No way. It's too late. You know those Pokemon toys? They're set to explode in 2015.

Feh. That's ample time to put together a counter attack strategy against the Mobile Suit Pokemon Wings.

The Suicide Suitcase Nuke Barbies are already rolling off the factory floor at Mattel.

still...it shows that the future like of Star Wars is drawing near and nearer...probably another 1,000 years and it'll be something like Star Wars, except without the Jedi and maybe there will be others...

Thousand years?

Electricity has only been around for some 3-400 years, and since then man have advanced technologically many many times more than we have in our entire existence.

I say about 2-300 years tops, and we have hyperspace travel.

you know there was a man who was arrested (i think in australia) for engaging in a.. ahem... sexual activity with a blow up doll... IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROWDED SHOPPING CENTRE! police reportedly had to seperate the man from his... toy by force as he would not come willingly (uhh..)

imagine trying to get outta that one!

"uhh.. well, you see, i saw this lady on the ground.. and she wasnt breathing... so i started to administer CPR.. and one thing led to another and.. well, yeah."

Well...I'm trying to be safe. By certainly a thousand years, this world will pe pretty similar to Star Treck/Star Wars.

I think it is a reflex we have to things that appear human but we just pick up on small oddities and such. I think at the last Nextfest they had a Philli K. Dick android this a link to the website of the creator and information about the how it was made http://www.hansonrobotics.com/project_pkd.php .
I wonder where they will be in five years. Think of the first generation Asimo I think it was named the walking bot by Honda.

Whatcha mean by discreet? Was it the dead chinese on the stairs? Has anyone ever heard of "The Rape of Nanking"? Anywayz...yeah...furture is looking mighty weird. Its not hard to imagine major wars in the near furture (especially with President Bush at the wheel...). It can be depressing and you can come to the conclusion that we're all gonna die...which is a very common conclusion, but hey, we got this far without blowing ourselves to hell so whos to say we can't survive another 1000 years and start flying around the galaxy and such? The furture is not ours to see...but its fun to imagine anyway

Seeing those pictures of mankind going nuts makes me think that the world in 3000 A.D. will be more like The Flinstones than Star Wars.
