Scales&Mail&Cliffside

Here we are, I'm hoping for some good crits. If you can contribute I'd appreciate, and much thanks.
I'm not too down with all of it, the warrior seems too static, shoul blur the reflections off him, but at the same time he is proping himself for an impact and isn't actually moving... anyways, it was a great challenge for me and for that I am grateful.

umpha!

awsome, i really like it alot. My one real crit is that i really cant tell what the figures are standing on, you say cliffside in the title but it kinda looks like they are standing on a thin tree branch.

what is up with that middle area..some funky things are happening their. the snake is a great start.. but that middle area makes no sense at all.. i would get some ref fix it and noodle this thing and you might have a great piece also those colors are giving me a headache.. tone them down and prepick about 90 percent of colors in the begging .. leave room for expirementation and spontanuiety but tame those colors!!! id say at least another 4 hours on this thing. at least. 1. ref 2. noodle 3. some sort of color scheme

Snowsfall: It's supposed to be an edge in the big ass clifside thatthe serpent has got the cornered on, but I agree with you, it seems way to ambiguous, I'll go back in and try to better intigrate. mucio thanks.

tbpuppy: I have been getting so much different feedback about the colors, anything from:excellent, to: huh? Still though, I'm not too pleased with it myself, especially the armour on the warrior, it seems too static. I also think it feels too saturated myself. As for the middle part of the picture, were you talking about the warrior also or more the scales to the left of him? Thanks for the direct feedback.

I think this needs a lot of cleaning up before calling it finished.
Especially the figures. (for example you can see a box around them which is perhaps the result of cutting them out and pasting them in again somwhere else)

The colors and the edges too need some work.

A bit more contrast would perhaps make some of the shapes better readable. (At the moment, I can't really tell whats going on in this image)

If you want to focus on the warrior I think that it would help, if you:

*) make the background behind the snake creature darker
*) paint the warriors cloth &
*) give it a color that pops out. Maybe a warm color like brown, orange, gold or something (?) just try it out.
*) and I would make the warrior the part of the pic with the highest light-value

Hope it helps
