The Art of The Incredibles

Anyone pick up this book? I tried to get it at two Barnes & Nobles but its out of stock. I picked up the concept art book for Finding Nemo last year, and that had some really awesome stuff in it. If anyone does happen to have the Incredibles book, what do you think of it?

Didn't know they realize that material till when I read about Alien vs. Predator’s but sure I would buy as many as I can.Sky Captain released a few of it's stuff for download I should say it shade lots of light on how to get things done and the possibilities of getting them done after sketching ‘em up..

So I picked up this book the other day, and I have to say that I'm just a bit disappointed. I got the Finding Nemo book when that movie came out and I loved it. It was full of really great sketches, pastel color tests, paintings, digital work, etc. The Incredibles book is loaded with these weird collage pieces. Seriously, they show character explorations done by cutting up what looks to be magazine photos and making people out of the shapes. I guess I can see some value to this in terms of color explorations, or maybe I just don't get it... but I just don't think they are worth putting in a book.

I also have to wonder why there are almost no familiar artist names in this book. 90% of the names seen in the Nemo art book are not found in this one. If this book was as good as the Nemo book, I wouldn't really care what names were placed next to each image. But since this book just isn't all that great in my humble opinion, I have to wonder if this is just a sign of a mediocre movie to come.

For those who have the book, maybe there says something......
There´s a question hitting in my head since I first saw the Incredibles character desing.
Is Bruce Tim (Batman animated series) involved in the production of the incredibles? Because all the desings has their amazing style.

Btw, i don´t think it´ll be a mediocre movie, it´s PIXAR they can not make anything mediocre

Fact that it's a Pixar gives me reason to think it's mediorce reason I think this came out to first and back to the art thing in the book I guess every project seems to have a different approach thats the only way they can survive in bizz so maybe the decided to do the Incredibal this way... I would have to personally look at it before I really comment on it...
The other day I was reading the differences in the making approaches between Nemo and A Shark Tale trust me they go all the way to make sure it's diff... though from your description am already biased

Quite honestly I'm still expecting a good movie, but I'm betting it will be very different than anything we've seen from Pixar before. I guess I'm just saying that if it does turn out to be a disappointment, its possible you might be able to trace the problem back to all the new faces in the art department, brought in by the new director. I also just can't imagine being as visually amazed as I was by Nemo. I think my jaw dropped open within 10 seconds of the opening scene the first time I saw that one.

Regardless, I'll still see it in theaters and buy the DVD for the behind-the-scenes stuff. Its always fun to see the Pixar process and how they have evolved over the years.

I guess if you like Pixar stuff [laughs, innovative stories] like many of us the movie should be fine but don't expect breath taking new tricks in the making or technical department, guys are busy as we should also look forward to their automotive comedy Cars in 2005.
