Some rough sketches needing critiques

These are some rought sketches I hammered out a while back. I was wondering if I could get some pointers with these concepts. Good? Bad? Whatever? What to work on?

It's hard to find anything to gripe about. They look pretty tight to me, good proportion, very clean and readable. The only thing I'd like to see is some use of reflected light and more challenging poses and angles to see what this character would look like in motion.

Nice work.

Now being how this is an alien, this could be COMPLETELY wrong..

The chest looks a little thin to be having armour on, seems as if he/she would be wearing armour it would have more bulk... but maybe the armour is like some futuristic spandex-thin stuff, or just a slender build, its an alien who knows!

So i could just be looking at it from too much of a 'human' sense, so if so, completely ignore this XD

Everything else looks great, i particularly love the helmet design... its like Tau meets 'Ghost in the shell' XD

Check the shoulder articulation. Seems a little...cramped.

Hmm - clicked on this fully intending to crit but can find little wrong with the images as ideas for a character. But! having said that, I think you could explore the character further by trying some dynamic action shots and or placing it in a basic environment or two. Also try some colour studies.

Remember that you're trying to show a 'character' so think of it's character as well as simply how it looks!

Lastly do some finished quality pics of it - because it looks cool and I'd like to see that!

Keep it up!

Update on concepts!

Thank you guys again for the critiques. I tried to take them into consideration.

Here are some additional pictures. Some more basic concept pictures of the alien armored soldiers (They are called Troikans). I bulked them up slightly considering they have armor on. I also shortened them a little in the legs. I messed up badly on the legs I believe. Alas such as it is.

I am weary of posting this. It is my first meager attempt at doing a full scene in anything. This is a battle scene of Troikan soldiers in battle.

Just on the end I thought I would attach an alien tank concept I have been mulling over. Any critiquing would be wonderful. I know I am not that great at industrial style concept art, but I am working on it.

Thanks again for all the help and pointers!
