Ear Painting - How is color and value?

Oil paint on paper. 5 inches x 5 inches. This is going to be a part of a larger piece. There will be lots of small paintings hanging together and this is one of them. They will (hopefully) all make sense together.
How are the values on this one? I was having trouble getting enough value range into the hair so it didn't just feel like a solid brick of color. I'm still not sure I got it. I'm thinking of going back in to the hair in the morning to try fixing that. Should I?
Also is the color too patchy on the cheek? How about the rest of the color?

You can critique other stuff too, in fact I welcome any critique.

EDITED: Added the WIP which is just the first coat of paint.

Hi MyOrangeHat,

Right now it looks like a classroom lighting(soft). So if you are going for that, then i think you got it. However, all the edges feels really soft. I would probably add some harder edges on the parts where you want to really pop.
